I have browsed GJ for years, but this is my first post. Hello everyone!
I know this thread is a few months old, but thought I'd help anyone out that is looking for individual SK impact sockets. I have the complete set of 1/2 inch drive Craftsman deep impact sockets, both metric and standard, but the set does not have very many sizes, (example, there is no 20mm), so last weekend I went through my impacts, and the SK catalog, and ordered every individual socket that SK made, of sizes that I did not already have, to complete my set. I ordered them from Tooltopia.com, now to their credit, the shipment arrived pretty quickly, especially considering that Monday was President's Day. BUT.... about 2/3 of the sockets that arrived were old stock from the pre Ideal days, completely different packaging, a completely different design, some of them missing the size markings, most were rusty. I emailed Tooltopia, but no response as of yet. I'm sure they will make it right, so I am in no way bashing Tooltopia, just want to give a heads up, if anyone is looking at similar 1/2 inch drive individual impacts, you may want to keep this in mind. I wouldn't have minded getting old pre Ideal stuff that was rusty, if I would have known what I was getting, and saved considerably on it, but it's a bit frustrating when I pay new prices. Also, a side note, does anyone know if Wright makes SK's impact sockets? Or vice versa? One of the sockets was a Wright socket, of the correct size, but in an SK bag. Nice looking socket (I have no Wright stuff) just curious how this happened. Hope this helps someone, and thanks to you all for years of excellent tool reviews and advice!
