Bolster you are correct.
there are many threads here on how to change screwdriver handles. \many guys use these on their ratchets in place of the soft grip handles.

I get "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

Anybody want to send me a link on how to re-handle a screwdriver shaft with a SO hard handle?

What would it cost for a #2 phillips?

Yeah, would the cost of the handle and the shaft cost the same as buying the one screw driver by itself? :headscrat

Historicly, there has never been a savings buying something separately opposed buying it in a set . . .

it would cheaper than what the sets sell for on ebay. 280 and up is too rich for my blood.
I have seen them hit 450 on one and I nearly fell out of my chair. now you can build the sets how you like.
it will cost more if you order the blades.

I don't see replacement shafts in the catalog so I'm assuming only dealers can get them?

they didnt want to just to piss you off. and look it worked again. I think since you throw such a fit over stuff about snap on they are going to do whatever they can to make you mad and question why you exist in life. I am not sure. but usa made.

If the shoe fits...

Man, ya'll have been crying about these since they were discontinued, now they brought them back and you're all STILL unhappy. Somehow I doubt that's Snap On's fault.

Back to the point...how do we take advantage of these handles...how does one re-handle a shaft?

Pot of boiling water, or what?

Problems with shafts going in crooked?

Blades are like 10-15 each add 15 for a handle you are at 200 cost for a set of 8, plus they dont make the smaller sizes ebay is still the place for complete sets, plus the new handles dont have partnumbers in them

I have done a bunch of those in the past. hard handles on all the new ratchets. the 1/4 handles are too big though. I am still trying to find one that will fit properly

I cant sell outside of my territory. I will get hammered by snap on. If they are not available I will talk to the product manager and see if he can get something done.

All right, when you find one, please post.

Now, how do we read these, since they aren't by a direct number replacement. (never looked since they had been discontinued)
I have a (very) few, inherited ones, one of which the handle is all cracked up (don't know the time frame, so I don't know if it was one of the chemical issue ones).
Example SDD2R1RG
Screw
Driver
D?
2? (what is this, drive size?)
R (eplacement)?
1?
R?
G (reen)

Thanks

I understand on the territory thing.

It does come up as blade and the price is 15.70. What kind of blade is it?

The real question is, why send back everyones' "beloved" with ******* that are difficult to take off? LOL

Snap-on should just put the damn blades back in the handles and sell the drivers like they used to. Consumers cannot build these drivers without a dealer with shafts, and except on here, I have known no tolerable SO dealers in my area, so..............................why the Charlie Fox Trot................just make the drivers again.

Typical SO, they treat it like Cherry Pie, and make you jump through hoops for it.

AT LEAST THEY BROUGHT THEM BACK! I bet they will sell the complete sets again as a high priced "Classic" alternative, they are just in the peep show phase right now.

I'm glad they brought them back as there is obviously demand for them.

I just don't like there recent attempts to desensitize us to COO. Start taking Made in USA off the USA made tools slowly so we become accustomed to it that way we don't ask questions later when production does move overseas. :(

I am pretty sure that is the plan.
