New Snap-On "Iqon" tool boxes

Any of you boys have any experience with these? Guess they're replacing the Classic series with these. Seem pretty nice, 3 full length drawers, power drawer, a drawer with divider system. Supposedly they're the same steel thickness as a KRL and the same height, but 24" depth. I'm not gonna lie, for around $4000 after rebate, I'm considering one. Would be a nice replacement for my 1976 Snap-On stack.

I actually like the concept of this box, due to the fact that a lot of mechanics that at a dealership with access to dealer speciality tools, this box is large enough for them, all their day to day tools will fit in the three wide drawers, got a power drawer for batteries and chargers, and few larger drawers for molded cases. Awesome box !

KRL and Classic were always the same metal thickness. Biggest spec difference was due to the slides and casters. Looks like they're just trying to refresh the Classic series with a very stupid name.

....its the same price as a Classic which it basically is, just refreshed a bit. I don't get the excitement?

What? That costs twice the amount of any car I have ever bought. Why do you think I am a member of this site.

I like the 24" depth. On my KRA the 20" depth can be limiting. Nothing that is crippling but for a similar price point I think that is a nice upgrade from the KRA.

Well, since it's been claimed by the experts that you can get a KRL1033 for $4K-$5K brand new off the truck, I expected the Iqon to be far cheaper.

Plus the power drawer (not sure how much I actually need that) and "SpeeDrawer", which is like having one Lista drawer

Im sorry but Classics have been 24" deep and have had full length drawers for quite awhile. The 55" can come with 1 or 2 full length drawers I think and the 96 can be had with the whole 55" bank having full length drawers... These boxes have list prices for between 5-7 grand, so 5 digit price tag has never applied.

Once again this is just a refresh, little has changed in terms of construction compared to a Classic. Just trying to dilute your koolaid with some facts as you seem a little lacking in what Snap-On has in their box line-up.

People don't seem to understand that white and other light colors hide dust, dents, and scratches the best. Get yourself a black or dark blue box and see how clean it looks after a few months.

Very little. Not a lot of greasy hands involved in the care of a low utilization private jet worth 8 figures. If I remember, I'll ask next time I see him.

Depends on how the person buying the box sees the benefits of the box as being beneficial to them based on their criteria and requirements for tool storage.

Couldn't agree more, black ain't the color to get in a dusty shop. Remembered seeing a JD tech using a couple of white boxes

Regarding the new Snap-on Iqon boxes, they seem to be taller than the older Classic version with the additional full width drawer and they have the power drawer.

Other than that I am staying out of a Snap-on vs. Mac or Matco box debate.
