Yep, you ****......back in the 90's I managed a auto salvage yard in central Florida, the owner also had 3 metal scrap yards, it was unbelievable what people scraped. My yard foreman was in his early 60's and had grown up in the salvage business, he collected tools he found in cars or went over the scales his entire life. His garage was packed floor to ceiling with bins loaded with tools, his plan was to sell them at flea markets when he retired. No pictures because it was so long ago but I either found in cars (which were free ) or bought over the scales such things as, a full set of Ridgid pipe wrenches from 4" to 36" , many impact guns ( scraped as dirty aluminum ) a lathe, vices, hydraulic press, more hand tools than i can begin to count or remember .....the yard was next to a giant retirement community and we'd get calls all the time usually from widows asking if we bought metal , their husband died and the garage was full of metal tools would we be interested. If you can cultivate a relationship with the local scrap yard and offer to pay
more than the mills are paying and maybe a pizza or such for the yard guys you'll be surprised what what goes through those gates
