Building a new work trailer for driveway sealing .

2 6k torsion axles. 5 225/90/16 14ply trailer tires . Frame is 5x3x3/16 rectangle tube .

Doing a 16ft trailer deck . Last 4 foot will be a platform for tar buggy and blower . It will hinge down like a ramp and then up to flat for road transport.

Whole deck will be expanded metal . Have a few more cross members to add and make the tounge.

Personally, I've found that expanded metal is best used sparingly, as in small accents here and there. Big sheets of it is terribly ugly, easy to damage/sag and difficult to replace.

Just my 0.02 but as a trailer deck it requires so much support to prevent sagging that it's simply not worth it, unless of course the deck NEEDS to be made of it for some reason.

Looks good, carry on!

Your axle and frame specs lead me to believe they will exceed the carry capacity of the expanded metal as well.

Hope this helps understand the direction of the build .

The expanded metal wont be for major weight every day use . Just to keep possible loose stuff from dropping off . Solid deck just adds weight we dont need and sealer sticks to it and add even more weight . So open floor for the best option .

Is that a Demco ez latch coupler?
Those are great to use.

Trailer looking good. Sounds like you’ll have set just right for your use.

Looking good, it makes a difference when the work trailer is built exactly for the task it does.

Not distract from your trailer build, but the front hitch setup on the plow mounts looks useful and awesome.

These few dont and it will be rear platform / ramp unit build .
