i dont have any those sets but i have some of there sockets i bought as singles and there all made in taiwan and have been great. fit and finish is perfect.

The two 1/2" drive sets are new, I have yet to see them in-store. I own the 1/4" (13001) and 3/8" (13101) sets and have been pretty happy with. The cases are compact yet study and the tools have good chrome throughout. Quality seems on-par to current Kobalt although the Tekton sets are much more complete. While of good quality, the ratchets are a very common 72-tooth design. I would like to see Tekton do a refresh and match the 90-tooth ones in the new Kobalt sets. The 3/8" set stays in my trunk and I mostly keep the 1/4" set indoors for household use. Unfortunately, one of the two sets I picked up on Black Friday to gift is missing a deep 3/4" socket — something I need to get around to contacting customer service about. :eek:

I bought a 1/4" and a 3/8" set for my brother for. A gift. I have used them a couple of times, they are very nice for the money. Ratchets are not great, but serviceable.

Those are probably the most complete 1/2 inch drive 6 point socket sets I've seen from a non tool truck brand at a fraction of the cost. :beer:

I don't own any of these but I am again reminded that I really need to order one of the 1/4" or 3/8" sets to keep in the truck. They seem to be pretty good quality for the money and have been reviewed well here before.

Seems like a fairly decent deal for all the sizes you get with that 1/2 set. I've bought some of their other tool sets and been plenty happy with them so far. I'll have to compare but I think I'll be grabbing these before too long to continue working on some of the suspension on my K5 project. Thanks for the post up!!

worse case with these kits you swap out the ratchet for one you like or perfer. the sockets will hold up fine. i use them without issues and i use them on everything from a lawnmower to commercial truck.

Tagged! One of my sons tools for auto tech class is a complete 1/2" socket set like this. I've already bought him complete Sunex Impact sockets though. If he's told he needs non impacts, this is it.

Yea I see what you're saying.. tekton's set goes up to 32mm.

I actually was about to buy the Tekton 1/4" and 3/8" sockets sets until someone else turned me onto Gearwrench deals and sets.. I wanted a more complete set to use outside working on the cars, and liked the idea of having a seperate set of 1/4" and 3/8" that were complete.. not that it matters, but I also liked that Gearwrench only used one side of their case for storage, instead of using both the top and bottom of the cases... anyway - I agree that this Tekton set is good for the money.. bit of overkill going all the way down to 10mm in a 1/2" drive I'd think, but better to have it then not I suppose...

It's definately a good find..

I've got that 3/8 drive set. Great tools, no skips and can't beat their customer service. Ratchets and extensions seem to be near identical to the Kobalt brand at Lowes. If I need a 1/4 or 1/2 set, I'd not hesitate to buy the Tekton version.
