So a few years ago I bought a house with a garage and this 30x30 shop/quonset hut. Guess it was used for horses back in the 60s. Idk.. anyways.
This thing needs some TLC to get it to my liking. I thought it would be nice to show you all my progress as I go about the transformation.
Fix concrete (big crack),
Cinderblock wall is in bad shape and not worth tuck point. It will be removed and 2x6 stud wall will be put in its place with a service door and 2 new windows and steel panel exterior to match rest of building.
Change the sliding barn door to an overhead door.
Batt Insulate both gable walls and the new wall that is replacing the cinderblock wall. Spray insulate the quonset curved wall. Plywood for interior wall.
Still debating on how to do the ceiling. Under the rafters, put a layer of plastic visqueen and then either steel panel or plywood. And then spray loose cellulose ontop to insulate.
Going to be a long process and slowly done over the course of a year or two as the extra money is available.
