I cant call it a simple belt, that would be an understatement. Some will say its overkill for a DIY'er. Since I have been rebuilding my 2 1/2 car detached garage: new ceiling joists, electrical, drywall and cabinets . I have found that I needed more room on my belt. Since I am working in stages moving the existing junk as I go. I can go from framing to electrical to drywall.

I shopped the big boxes for a good belt. My last one was leather 7-8 pockets with the plastic snap latch. I got my use out of it. I wanted heavier leather, more pockets, real belt buckle and one made in the good ole USA. That's the major challenge. All the big stores had made in China. Well I read here the post on Occidental Leather and started checking out their goods. Lots o' pockets, thick leather, made in the USA, but with the USA price. Found a local tool shop that had one, the Pro Framer DB set. I went and tried that bad boy on and it fit good, empty. I said WTF, its almost my birthday. I will get it for myself! As you can see I have loaded it up, framing, electrical, staple gun, etc... I personally like my hammer on my hip, I tried the Hammer Holder on my side and it was bulky, I will stick to the leather loop. (the brand new hammer holder is for sale) Its the best fitting most comfortable belt I have worn. I may not do construction 9-5/m-f but I get a lot of use from my tools and this is one I am quite happy with.

If anyone is on the fence. Go with Occidental Leather, you wont be disappointed.

Congrats on the purchase! I absolutely love my Occidental Leather framer's rig - A lot of thought went into their designs, and the materials and construction are top-notch. It's a good chunk of money to be sure; I've called them "expensive", but that's a relative term. Can something truly be "expensive" when there is nothing else like it?

Btw, is that a speed square in the left main pocket? If so, Occidental designed that bag to hold your speed square neatly in the long slot between the main pocket and the outer one (one of the main reasons I went with Occidental years ago).

Thanks - I didn't even realize that till you mentioned it. Yes they are expensive, but its pretty much a lifetime investment. Its like my 350 buck Wesco work boots, custom made in Oregon, fits my foot like a glove and once I wear them out, Wesco will rebuild them for a 1/3 of the new price. Occidental will also rebuild their gear. I dont skimp on a quality built product from a company that backs it up.

The only thing that would make that tool belt any cooler is if you added some conchos and burned your name in the back like one of those cowboy belts. YEAH HOO!!

Tool belt bling, baby! Sweet setup!

(And I see you had it personalized with my initials. When can I expect it?)

Did I miss how much??

Nice belt BTW, really nice and thank you for buying USA!

It was $219 without tax, thats the going rate I have seen online. Get it now with tax vs. wait for shipping and no tax? I try to buy as much as I can in the USA. I will go out of my way to find made in the USA, even if it costs more.

I need to find a leather engraver, I also have a leather axe belt I need engraved with my name. This belt has plenty of room for it.

Thanks for the update.

Try Tandy Leather/Leather Factory. They have letter stamps to emboss a name or carving knives if you want to carve it.

I've been looking at their stuff lately. High quality. Yours is a nice looking tool belt. I never feel bad about buying quality stuff. You know what they say.....Buy cheep and cry forever, buy quality and cry once.

Please take some advice from an old ironworker, you better get some shoulder straps for that if you are going to wear it a lot. Especially if you are going to carry any weight of tools in it.
