I only have two Wright tools. Both deep sockets. A 1/2" and a 7/16", 3/8' drive. Bought then at Modern Auto in Buffalo in the late 60's.

Checked out the #3516, 1/2" socket today and the chrome around the socket end rim is slightly flaking.

Can't find the 7/16", but I remember borrowing it with a with a ratchet handle to a contractor truck driver at work, decades ago. I went to see how he was doing and found him using the socket/ratchet as a hammer and he put a slight chip in the socket end.

One of the many reason for not borrowing a tool.

I owned a set of Wright wrenches, 1"-2 1/2" many years ago when I was a millwright. Sold them when I was broke. They were some seriously tough wrenches.

I've been expanding my metrics, saw the 7-24mm satin set for a nice price on eBay. Based on all the rave reviews here, I bought them.

Most of my wrenches are Snap-on, with some Proto, S-K and Stahlwille. I must say, I'm really impressed with the Wright Grips. The open ends are super strong and work as well as Flank Drive+. Overall fit and finish is outstanding, the satin chrome is some of the nicest I've seen. I may just spring for the SAE set. :D

So, Questions for all of you Wright Wrench owners...

I checked a lot of wrenches out and finally settled on buying the 715 and 752 sets of "WrightGrip" wrench sets. Really like them and would like to go up in wrench sizes, but want to stay the Satin and WrightGrip route.

According to the Wright Catalog (2014, page 55), WrightGrip is only available upto 1 1/4", and evidently at least 22mm (since this feature was included in the 752 wrench set).

I cannot find any further information on what is the largest size wrench they go to:
1) Wright Email customer service site appears to be useless. I have asked the question there three times with no response.
2) Wright website still appears to maintain what their catalog says for sizes.
3) The only place that appears to have clear pictures is ebay:
Upto 1 3/4" = http://www.ebay.com/itm/271647307440?item=271647307440&vectorid=229466
Upto 70mm? = http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wright-Tool...549?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd57e2bed

Probably another question for another post, but was wondering if:
1) WrightGrip offered in their open end wrenches?
2) WrightDrive offered in their boxed end wrenches?

Thanks

All,

Did some further research and providing more information from what I can glean from the catalogs and the website to see if they have further information about the questions that I have (Open/Box/Combination have Grip/Drive).

The catalog downloaded last week (so guessing it is still the newest) says:
WrightGrip:
Page 55 under heading of "WrightGrip Is Now Standard Feature" = "...on all open end of combination wrenches upto 1-1/4""
Kit #714 & 715 (pg 57) says WrightGrip, but only goes to 1-1/4"
Kit #726 (pg 58) says WrightGrip and implies that this feature is included in all wrenches upto the included 2", however the 730 set does not say WrightGrip. So, uncertain if you would even get the WrightGrip wrenches upto the implied 2" from the 726 set.
Bottom half of both Page 76 & 77 state that individual wrenches only have WrightGrip up to 1-1/4"

WrightDrive:
Page 55 under heading of ""More Bite from Wright" (last paragraph) implies that all Box End Wrenches have this feature. Outside of Sockets... I can't find any other mention of this feature for wrenches.
--If this statement is true (all box wrenches), than this should answer my question for the "Boxed Wrenches".
--Additionally implies that this is a feature on all there wrenches, no matter the size.

The Website:
http://www.wrighttool.com/online_catalog.asp
--Select "Wrenches"
--Select "Combination Wrenches"
Select any of the sub folders and on the right side under "Click here to view PDF Catalog" it says they all feature the "WrightDrive".
Select any of the sub folders and than select any of the individual wrenches, Details, a "pop-up" shows and select "Next Photo" (may have to increase the screen size to see, next the picture of the wrench) and can see which have WrightGrip:
--Can't quite see if any of the "Black" finish ones have it. To dark.
--Industrial and HD do not appear to have this feature.
--WrightGrip is only shown up to the 1-1/4" wrench.
NOTE: Humorously you would think the manufacturer would have enough wrenches on hand to show the correct size wrench vice a "9/16 WrightGrip". Also some of the pictures are so small that they are useless to view.

As stated before... I am finding that on ebay I can find larger wrenches with the WrightGrip, but sad that the Wright Website cannot be updated, nor that their customer service can answer my emails.
