I called Newage today and the sales rep I spoke to made it sound like there were no active plans to release the other colors for the new sink cabinet, tall wall cabinet, etc. I don’t really understand why that is but hope the other colors do become available soon. I would order today if platinum was available.

They really have the Costco mentality which is take it or leave it. It’s really tough to invest in a system that isn’t really modular despite the way it’s marketed in their site.

These cabinets are installed in Massachusetts. Glad I didn't go to school in Massachusetts I'd flunk spelling that's for sure.

My price is the same as Lowes. If you type in Garage Journal, where it asks for a coupon on the checkout page, you'll get an extra 50 bucks off. I appreciate your service.
But I don't discriminate against non-military customers.

If you purchase from Lowes you will pay state and local taxes. If you purchase from ShopStorageCabinets.com you will pay taxes if your delivery is in a state that has a NewAge warehouse.

Those states are:Washington, Arizona, California, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan and Massachusetts.

discriminate? haha no worries.

Although I did link the wrong set

https://www.lowes.com/pd/NewAge-Pro...-Black-Steel-Garage-Storage-System/1000409033

If you want me to quote a price for you, please go to my website, it's a real place ShopStorageCabinets.com.

Find the set you're looking for (in this case model 53666 Performance 2.0 14 piece set) and instead of adding it to your shopping cart, click on add to quote. That way not only will I have your email address to send an invoice, but you will have visited my website.

I can't show the sale price on items not on my list of sale items for the month. But NewAge doesn't care what price I sell their cabinets for.

Lots of garages come with a curb around the walls. In my case I built a level platform out of plywood to mount my cabinets on, but you can extend the leveling feet to support the front edge of you cabinets. Or you can mount the cabinets directly to the wall or fir out the wall. That gives you a flat wall surface to mount cabinets.

Any news on the Pro tall wall cabinet in red yet? Grey isn't going to work for me

My NewAge rep said they are not currently bringing in the other colors for the new Pro Series sink cabinet, tall wall cabinet or the rolling locker cabinet.

My other thought was to get myself a tall wall cabinet in red was to use a Pro 3.0 Series Base Cabinet flipped upside down (so I can reach the lock) with no legs on it of course.

Do you see any issues other than the cabinet being a bit too deep for a wall cabinet? If the shelves use those stamped tabs that stick out I can just drill and rivet the shelves where I want them.

Great thread, just starting to research these for my current shop build (build thread incoming once it gets further along).

I have a few questions.

Looking at Performance 2.0 vs Bold 3.0, they seem very comparable in dimensions, options.... Not sure I can justify the price of the Pro 3.0 to my wife based on current spending of garage.

Looking at the newage website, it seems the performance 2.0 is nicer then the Bold 3.0, but yet performance 2.0 is cheaper ?

https://newageproducts.com/compare-cabinets/

What is the real difference and which would you recommend ?

here are the two sets I am looking at currently, Same size, basically same thing besides Bold vs performance, and obviously color $300 difference in price

Other than how the upper cabinet doors open, the performance 2.0 and the bold 3.0 are basically the same. The performance 2.0 has doors and drawers that over lay the cabinet frames. On the bold you can see the cabinet frames.

The prices dropped when the tool cabinets changed from being the same size as the base cabinets, to slightly smaller. This allows the tool cabinet to slide under the worktops without scraping the fixed cabinets.

I've been trying to find out why the bold and performance are priced differently. No replies from NewAge yet.

If you used base cabinets on the wall, aren't you wasting the counter top space? You would bop your head every time you used the worktop.

Not really, the bold 2 door base cabinets are only 16” deep, my workbench is 32” deep with a 9’ ceiling. So would the bold 2 door base cabinets work screwed into a wall upside down?

ugh i bought a set about six months ago...a month after that I bought some new property and decided they'd be better suited in the shop there than at the old place. I still haven't gotten around to even taking them out of the box!

I have newage and shopped saber... Both should be notable better than hf .

Shopping the two, I liked the sabers cleaner look. At the end of the day it came down to price. Saber will easily be 25% more due to shipping costs. And then you will need to assemble some of their cabinets... Not worth it imho

Anyone else have input on how these compare to the Habor Freight US General. Specifically drawer strength and feel. They look better and I'd like to go with them but it's hard without seeing one in person.

Search Garage Journal for NewAge cabinets to find more reviews. Harbor Freight tool cabinets are the least expensive cabinets you can find. You get what you pay for in most cases.

Any good links? I've read a bunch but haven't seen much of a direct comparison to other cabinets that I can put my hands on. I totally agree on the price comment.

For those who are considering NewAge cabinets here are some items to consider;

First decide which style of NewAge cabinet your interested in. The main differences are the thickness of the metal and size of the cabinets. Bold and Performance cabinets are 24 gauge sheet metal. The Pro and Performance Plus cabinets are made of 18 gauge sheet metal that is twice as thick. On our website there is a comparison chart, to help make this decision. The price per cubic foot of storage is the same.

SketchUp is a free software that you can use. Graft paper is my best friend, draw out the size of your garage with any windows or door locations. The Pro and Performance base cabinets are 28" wide that means 3 of them are 7 ft wide. The tall locker cabinets in the Pro and Performance are 36" wide. Layout what fits your space then look for a set with most of the items needed. You can add individual cabinets to fill out your space.

The best way to purchase NewAge cabinets is in sets. NewAge packs base and wall cabinets inside the locker cabinets, saving space in shipping. While shipping is free of charge, it is included in the price of the cabinets. Shipping individual cabinets, even if you purchasing a bunch, is more expensive than shipping a locker cabinet full of smaller cabinets.

Hope this helps. When in doubt go to our website ShopStorageCabinets.com and look around.

Thanks for supporting small business.

Pardon my stupidity, but do they sell the taller wall cabinets any more? Those look awfully short.

In an effort to keep prices affordable NewAge has cabinets built so they can be packed into the larger locker cabinets. They can also now can pack wall cabinets into the 2 door base cabinet. Saves big bucks on shipping and makes sets cheaper than buying individual cabinets.

NewAge updates it's line from time to time. At one point the wall cabinets were taller than they are now. This is an older bold set of cabinets. The Bold lockers now come with up to 2 wall cabinets plus a base cabinet.

NewAge has just added a tall wall cabinet to the Pro series. They are offering them in gray only at this time.

Hope this answers your question.

NewAge is adding new sets to it's line up including a new slat wall option.

Here's some highlights.

3 in. on-center Slatwall System is compatible with most standard slatwall accessories
High-Gloss Silver powder coat paint finish is rust resistant and easy to keep clean
Interlocking panel design allows for an easy installation
Hidden fasteners hide screws for a seamless design
Holds up to 75 lbs. per square foot
Mounting hardware for wood installation included

Available for both the Pro and Performance Plus sets and the Bold and Performance sets.

Sized like the worktops to mount over two base cabinets or three.

48"W x 0.5"D x 22.87"H and
72"W x 0.5"D x 22.87"H for bold and performance or
56"W x 0.6"D x 24"H and
84"W x 0.6"D x 24"H for the pro and performance plus

Here is my set of Pro Series cabinets installed. I got them through John from his website ShopStorageCabinets.com and everything went very smoothly. It did take some time to get everything leveled, but worth the time. I used a laser level on the top of the highest cabinet to get mine lined up. They would be hard to beat for the money!

My old living room big screen TV will go between the upper cabinets.

Delivery (took other peoples advice and opened in area with a lot of height as the boxes slide up and over.)

How do you like the split base cabinet?
Are you using the dividers that come with the tool drawers?

Thanks for your support.
John [/QUOTE]

As far as the split base cabinet, I like the garbage can in the right hand side, not sure the bins on the left side will be useful as my nuts, bolts and rivets etc currently take up a lot more space than those offer. I would have rather had two garbage cans, one for recycle and one for trash.

I haven't got to filling up the drawers yet, but will use the dividers in some of them.

Received my order from Costco yesterday, marked my studs, leveled the feet and got them mounted! a2b57413cd6d73a3a181e695e76a9fce.jpg6025cfc8bc062286cfdd7fd3872c3471.jpg34351dcaa2b3f3dd344a3c2558e177c2.jpg

They look great!

How do you like the rolling tool box?

NewAge changed the manufacturer of tool cabinets. So it would be great if you could give us your option on this new rolling tool cabinet. Even though you bought from someone else, could you post some more pictures?

Thanks

The drawers and casters are very smooth so I’m pretty happy with it. I wish I could have floated and wall mounted it as that was the original plan for all of the cabinets but not too much of an issue.

I finally finished installing my Pro 3.0 cabinets. I figured I would share some pictures so others can see what the tall wall cabinets and the sink unit look like. The extra height in the tall wall cabinet is nice because I can grab items from the back withouth knocking over stuff in the front, and still have a reasonable height upper shelf. The sink was very easy to hookup once I figured out my drain pipe arrangement. The faucet came with the sink and works well and swivels easily.
The only issue I had was that the thickness of the sink top is slightly less than the thickness of the regular worktop, so I had to add some washers between the sink top and the base unit to make the top the same height as the worktop next to it.

Overall I am very happy and the cabinets accomplished everything I was looking for. I placed my order through John (dittle) and everything went very smoothly and quickly. Thanks John.

Just ordered a set of the 8-piece Bold 3.0 cabinets from Costco. Does anyone have a picture of how the corner cabinet looks next to the tall standing cabinet?
I am thinking to purchase the corner cabinet separately and have the tall cabinet next to it so that the whole set wraps around one corner of my garage if that makes sense.

Thanks

So do you get a dead end corner? You'd have to pick up one of the corner worktops. Otherwise you could run a 84" worktop into the corner.

Make sure you post pictures. Customer's want to know what to expect in the installation process.
