OK: I had the local rep drop off samples of Racedeck tiles. As nice as they were they seemed "noisy." So I visited a local dealership of classic cars the has Racedeck in the showroom and I found it irritating how much the floor would "click and clack" when you walked on it. and the darker colors showed all the dirt from your shoes and the tires.

So the polypropylene tiles are noisy, and the recycled PVC tiles are expensive (although quieter). I am no further along in deciding what to do. Years of having old cars mark their territory have left the floor unpaintable, so the tile seems to be the answer. I use the hydraulic jacks and jackstands, so durability is important. I need some ideas here. My garage looks like ****.

It's a standard 2-1/2 stall with a small bump-out for storage.

I find that the noise it totally irrelevant and can't believe people worry about it.

Having said that a friend of mine installed Racedeck after seeing mine and pulled them up because of the noise. That was good because I got to do another section of my garage for free using his tiles :)

Its really really really minor and I don't notice it anymore.

How does th ePergo Foam work for noise abatement?

I've read where some have place the thin, closed-cell foam underlayment for Pergo flooring under their plastic tiles. Sounds like it would work, but I'm wondering about drainage. Trapped moisture spells mold to me. And for those with the plastic tiles, how often to you pull it up to clean the floor beneath?

Clean the floor with muratic acid and wash with water. Let it dry and just paint with a floor enamel in whatever color you want. I prefer battleship grey and just touch it up every other year. It looks good, doesnt cost alot and I am not afraid to drop stuff on it or worry about welding and grinding messing it up as I touch it up every other year. Spills cleanup easy off it.

No paint

So what about ceramic tile? There's a company called vault that has a ceramic specifically for garages. Isn't cheap, but neither are the PVC tiles or the RaceDeck poly tiles. I do occasional work on the car; nothing major, but I will drop tools, spill fluids, roll the hydraulic jack around and use jack stands...
