How about someone post up their email to Amazon that resulted in a credit? I know if I write an email to them it will NOT get me a credit of any kind, especially since the remaining items in that order will now cost more because the order is no longer eligible for free shipping.

Your miles might vary depending on the customer service rep you get. Other factors might come into play - order history and volume, etc.

I would recommend that NOONE POST THEIR EMAIL CONTENT! There are a lot of lurkers that might copy-past the same email. If a rep sees the same email twice, then everybody loses.

If you don't know how to write an email expressing your disappointment in a respectful way, I really don't know what to tell you. Try your best, but expect nothing more than another apology. Sometimes you'll get a credit or discount, othertimes you won't.

I have to agree with Stuey on this. If you post up an email and it gets copied and pasted into another complaint...they will start to catch on. May take a bit, but it will happen. Then you all lose.

Just be respectful. But be sure that your language reflects that you are sincere and genuinely disappointed with your transaction with them. Mine eluded to the fact that I was seriously considering no longer doing any business with them unless the situation was resolved. But remember, being rude will not help you. It makes people callus to your situation. If you are rude to them, basically they do not care that you are disappointed with them. But if you are respectful and polite, but let them know your displeasure, people are more likely to take it as a personal issue to correct it. They feel you displeasure in the situation and feel more personal to it. Even though it may not have been that person directly that screwed it up, that will take it that way, to a degree. And they will take satisfaction in correcting it for you.

strangely enough, this is a philophy UI have developed over a 9 year period in the military...getting things done is not as simple as barking orders and telling people to shut up and color. You have to appeal to their emotions on some level and make them interested in helping you.

Good luck

My ergo-handled set got canceled also. As far as I'm concerned, with this kind of deal, a lot of the times it works out, sometimes it doesn't. I'm happy for the times that it does, and am going to leave it at that.

I just wrote a polite response of annoyance. Let's see if I get a gift certificate...

My first email I got back from them said it was a pricing thing like the rest of you. I shot an email to them on what's up with that? Got a second one saying that it was a no longer available thing. I went the the "no" link at the bottom on whether or not I was satisfied and hit the call me button. I ended up taking with the person there and told them if this had happened 24 hours into the order that would have been one thing and then ask them about the first email saying wrong price and second one saying not available...what is it. I asked them how do I know in the future if Amazon is going to really ship something? When I get it? The guy was nice and shot me a $20 cert. Would have rather had the files, but better than nothing.

Mine also got canceled today. I sent them an email and was offered a $20 gift certificate. I do buy things from Amazon all of the time, so maybe that makes a little difference. It ***** that I didn't receive the files, but at least they helped make it better.

How many people would be irked if within 48 to 72 hours they had gotten the pricing error / your order was cancelled email?

I would have been less irked if they cancelled the item 3 weeks ago.

With Amazon complaint emails, it is important to not expect anything. I too was offered a $20 promotional credit. Sometimes I get a credit or partial refund, sometimes I don't. I try not to email them with a complaint if I can help it - they do keep track of these things.

Remember that Amazon didn't charge our credit cards, and don't owe us anything more than an apology for the inconvenience, which was included in the cancellation letter.

I called up customer service and got the shipping charge credited so I still got free shipping even though without the canceled set the total was not $25.00 anymore. So a $7.** credit. That's all I really wanted was to still get the free shipping and that's what I complained about. Not the canceled item.

@MrSnicks:

How'd you get charged shipping? If the original order was for over $25 and you selected FSS, then they can't charge you shipping later on.

I had my ergo handle set canceled. That reduced my order total. Once they did that I had shipping charges added to it. I should say it is an order that hasn't shipped yet if that helps clarify.

OIC. Yeah, that I suppose will make a difference. On my order, 2 of the 3 items had already shipped long time ago. If they had decided to charge me shipping now I'd be upset!

If you email and politely tell them how disappointed you are over this and how it's unfair to charge you shipping charges that you did not agree to because your order was $25+, I'm sure they'll take it right back off.

What is the email address people are using to complain about their orders? Amazon really makes it difficult to contact them on stuff like this.

There is no email address. Go to "help" then there's a big yellow "contact us" button, you fill out the info and then click "send an email".

and wanted to confirm I've placed a $30 promotional certificate on your account for any inconvenience, which you can use the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

I did call to complain. They screwed up and I don't mean the pricing error either. Without our feedback, how can they correct the issue in the future?

BTW, I was told there were still 25 sets ordered that had not been cancelled and that there were 25 sets on order from the manufacturer.

So they just randomly decide who gets what? This is the most frustrated i have ever been with amazon. When i Emailed them i got a response from someone repeating the exact email they sent me when they canceled my order. Didn't even acknowledge the long email i wrote them or the fact that they have given me different answers as to why my order was canceled. Personally I feel like they should just send out the files.

It was that BS that led to me calling to complain. Without the BS a price error / cancellation email would have elicited a shrug and a mild "Bummer" from me.

Who said it was randomly decided? They will probably fulfill the orders that purchased the 25 sets first.

Remember that this is a 4-week backorder already. They may be having issues reordering the sets.

Amazon is powered by computers and computers don't play games.

One of my personal friends ordered after I did and got his set. It's likely a glitch in their system. Nothing personal for sure.

what a bummer. I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago. Haven't gotten them obviously and checking my account on the amazon website, there seems to be no evidence that they are coming. I guess they aren't even going to give me the courtesy of the email explaining that they aren't coming.

I still have one set in my open orders that no longer has a shipping ETA of any kind anymore. I wonder if they'll ever remember to cancel it.

I have one of those too. In the last email string to them they informed me that this will not affect the rest of my outstanding order. So I am somewhat confident that they did in deed look at what was still waiting to ship and that leaves me somewhat confident that if there was an error there they would have caught it then. but maybe Im being optimistic.
