Received an order update today on my remaining file set(the handled set). They stated that the order is further delayed and they need approval for the new estimated arrival date of May 25 2011 - June 15 2011. I just had to follow a link to approve the delay. I'm in no hurry, so I approved it. Not losing out if I can help it. Anyone else get this email?

Just got my 5 piece set yesterday. Placed order on 4/3

for $7.36 it was worth it just for the handles as I picked up a lot of files recently. Wish I could have gotten in on the other sets. But was a day late and dollar short so to speak.

Yes, I got the same email. They're about 50:50 either delivering it or eventually canceling when they've sent me that email I'm the past.

In all I ordered 5 kits in this deal. I had NO quality files before so I decided to stock up. Anyway, I have recieved three of the 5 so far and no emails on the others. The maintenance kit with handles and the machinist kit without handles are still on back order and show and estimated delivery of 9-26 May. Hopefully those two show up as well. For the price Id have been crazy not to stock up...even my wife encouraged the purchase :bounce:

Of the others that have shown up Im really pleased. Most cam beofre the expected date they told me. I was also pleased to see that the majority of the files are made in the USA! Not sure of the exact count, but probably 75% or more of them are so far

Yeah, but that's still a good deal, I got a set for the garage and a set for work.

Most came before the expected date they told me. I was also pleased to see that the majority of the files are made in the USA! Not sure of the exact count, but probably 75% or more of them are so far

Yeah, mine came a few weeks sooner.
3 out of 5 were USA.

Thanks,
Tony

I got in on the original file deal, (I was up late as usual,) and I just got this BS email from Amazon about my ergo's:

Hello,

We're contacting you about order #002-7152101-0281007. Unfortunately, we recently discovered that an error caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price:

Nicholson Maintenance Hand Kit With Ergonomic Handles, 6" Length/8" Length/10" Length/12" Length (Pack of 1)

In this case, we're unable to offer this item for the incorrectly posted price. Therefore, we've cancelled your order for this item.

At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced. We're very sorry for this disappointing news.

We value your business and hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

Customer Service Department
Amazon.com

They were able to deliver me the other two sets at the "incorrect price" so it's BS that they can't deliver my ergo's for the price I ordered them for especially since other people have received them.

got the same email for the Ergo handles.

maybe, those who already got them can post up your order numbers, so those who got cancelled can at least try to fight for it.

Well, I got two of the three sets I ordered.
They just canceled the set with the handles. Saying it was a mistake.

Now how can that be when some of you have received those very files???
Can they do that legally??? I know the stores cannot do that.

I got the email today that they had canceled part of my order. I ordered 2 of the ergo handles in 2 different orders and both were canceled.

It appears that the five pc. sets with handles were not caught by Amazon ....... but the nine pc. sets of same were recognized as being priced incorrectly and subsequently all canceled.

mine just got cancelled as well. I sent them an email to express my dissatisfaction with their customer service. We will see if/how they reply. Even though its in the fine print, this is really an unacceptable practice in my mind.

Another update, after having received the order delay email yesterday, today I received the wrong price cancellation email. This was for the 9 piece ergo handle set. I did get my 2 other sets(machinist kit and Maintenance kit) so I can't be too upset, but the ergo handle set was the one I wanted most. What does bother me is the games amazon is playing. Looks like they're hoping people will cancel on their own after getting the delay approval email, so they don't have to look bad by canceling your order.

Yep, canceled. But they went on to say I was fat and ugly. I thought that was uncalled for.

Cancelled too. I fired off an email to them.

I think it's utter BS. They say "incorrectly posted price", but that doesn't make sense b/c it's not even relisted now at any price.

In the past, when I ordered something that was priced low (Star Wars Transformers for $2.50 each), they cancelled the order within 24 hours. Since this tool 3 weeks, I think they just don't want to or cannot fulfill the order and are using the "incorrectly posted price" clause so that it's not their fault and so that can get out of having to fulfill the orders.

Grr.

Although from the start we all knew this to be a possibility. I just wish that they hadn't led me on for 3 weeks.

I did receive my 5-piece set, but wanted these so badly!

I'll be less disappointed if they offer me the same apology credit. Although, as we've all seen, Amazon's customer service can vary - they might offer some $5, others $10, others none. I don't think I've ever seen a $25 credit on a $10 item, your email to them must have been pretty strongly worded to have been so effective.

It was strongly worded, yet respectful. Ive found there is a careful line you have to wakl when dealing with this sort of thing. Letting them know you are serious and genuinely disappointed with the service is the key (everyone likes to claim good customer service...threaten that), but being respectful and dignified is just *** important. Be disrespectful, rude, and or childish and you will likely get nothing.

Agreed. I try not to be rude or too aggressive, and usually get sincere apologies or a token credit. I've found Amazon's customer service to be about the best I've ever seen among large e-tailers.

I emailed Amazon about 30 minutes ago expressing my disappointment with the cancellation. I just received a reply offering me a credit of $5. Yay . So I guess your mileage may vary.

Hello,

I'm very sorry that this has been a disappointing experience for you. We regret the error that resulted in an incorrect price being displayed for the Nicholson Maintenance Hand Kit With Ergonomic Handles. Unfortunately, in this case we were unable to honor the incorrect price, and your order was canceled.

In addition to our large selection, one of the benefits we'd like to offer our customers is convenience, and we have not met that standard in this case. Please accept my sincere apologies.

We hope to see you again soon.

Thank you for your recent inquiry. Did I solve your problem?
