Hello everyone,
I'm back at it, again.. I'm sure some of you might remember my 20x20 Detailing thread. I put a tremendous amount of work in there and just when it was about to be 100% ready I decided it was time to move into my own place with my lovely girlfriend and our dog Pancho.
Here are some pics of my previous build. I did everything except for the tiles, I'm an apprentice electrician and I consider myself to be somewhat of a handyman
So what's next ? My new garage is 21x11 with a bump in the corner which is actually pretty helpful to store my tools and products.
Here are some pics of when we first moved in
I decided to start by adding some much needed lighting
Next was the floors
My main goal was to protect the cement from absorbing water when doing washes in the garage. I got a good deal on the paint from one of my clients who purchased the materials and never got around doing it. I rented the big polisher with the diamond pads to sand down the floor and applied a primer ( i think it was just acid) I spent around $300 on everything and sadly it's already peeling around the high traffic areas. So i'll have to find another solution. I also thought about using epoxy but since both of our cars have studded tires I'm pretty sure it will eventually peel off. At this point I'm leaning towards racedeck tiles.
Next up was making room for my 60G compressor, so what best than under the staircase ?
This area was a mess, the builder just "threw" everything under the staircase so there was a lot of wasted space
As you can see there is a lot of square footage wasted there, hard access too because of the central vacuum.
Out we go!
The water faucet was also " on the way"
The water tank was a good 2' away from the staircase so I modified the PEX piping and pushed it all the way in the back

First time framing a door, thanks for the help YouTube!
Once the tank was done I continued with the vacuum
Framing the new wall and doing some plumbing
Gyprock, the fitting at the top wasn't the best, had to do it all on my own
Sink will be going on top and hose at the bottom ( couln't find a blue and red faucet, will replace the handle after)
And first coat of filler
My next project was adding a shelf on the back wall so I can store my products. I have a bunch of 5g size containers I needed to find a place for so I built this shelf.
Went from this

I also added a retractable cord reel I got from home depot. I was able to fish the power using some existing holes I used to fish the rest of the garage
And last but not least! Finally getting the walls ready for some paint! Most of them are ready for primer
Ready for primer
