Is running NM-B wire in conduit over to my shed alright?

Even if overhead in conduit is NO. NM-b is not to be used in a possible wet environment. You need UF-b

Underground, & outdoor, conduits are wet locations as defined by the NEC, & NM is allowed in dry locations only.

NM-B is not for outdoor.. UF-B is what you want..

What size circuit are u running?

Since youre already running conduit, THWN would probably be cheaper(depending on size) AND would be a whole lot easier to pull...

Sounds like this is a detached building.
What is it being fed from, and what is length of run?
Assuming you want 120/240 VAC you will need 3 current carrying conductors and ground.

I would figure out the length and then compare the cost of THHN vs. UF-b...u need 3 runs of #8(unless the length is long) and one run of #10 for ground...

Another case in favor of using THWN in conduit.

If the UF-B is used, it would require #6 instead of #8.
