No idea what this tool is for?

Found this old tool and have no idea what it is for. Don't think it is homemade but don't see any part number on it.

For holding one nut while turning another perchance? Measure across the flats. Hold the outer, tighten the inner with a ratchet?

I should have put something in pic for size reference. It is 1/2 drive and about 18" long. That would be for a big valve!!

That's how I figured it worked but was just curious about where it would be used. Maybe some kind of front end work? Flats are 1 7/16" and 13/16"

I clearly didn't pay attention to the first pic where it is standing on the floor near a chair!

I was thinking normal car valve, and assumed that was a 1/4" drive hole on top. Guess I missed the chair too.

Yep. It might be for adjusting the valves on that!!

normal residential size burners use a 3/4 & 5/8 double wrench, I think. Whatever that is for, it's a big thing.
