I purchased a Reznor FE100 heater from a friend last year. It ran when we took it down. It sat in my garage until recently when I hung it and got gas and electric to it. It is fueled by propane. So I have my propane supply and I purged the line of air to the ball valve just before the gas control. I have electric hooked up and a working thermostat. When I turn it on the main fan activates. However it will not light at the pilot. I imagine there would be some sort of clicking to know the igniter is trying to ignite the pilot but nothing? I do have the main gas line open and the gas control turned to on. I just don't know what is going on in the controller and what things need to be met for other functions to work. I pulled the thermocouple, pilot and igniter "pod" down. All looks clean and the igniter gap is within spec of .100. I'm just trying to go one step at a time. Could I match lite the pilot to prove gas is flow to it?

I appreciate any tips and thank you!

Sure try lighting the pilot with a match and see if it lites it then fires up main burner.

i worked on that unit but it had standing pilot...that unit has a pilot safety switch built in if i remember...two red wires(from gas valve) that lead to a small temp. activated switch... they were a pita to troubleshoot- i had so many go out ...i bought a bag of the switches from supply house...if you hold down pilot button it works as soon as you let off it's out(not thermocouple)...sounds like you may have electronic ignition....you should be able to check online for a wiring diagram...many times you will find a manual reset near the top or side of unit...if lucky they leave a plate you can remove to service...otherwise the whole side panel needs to come off-always fun while at height:wtf:

Thanks for the replies. Upon further review of the wiring diagram. I had the one t-stat wire on the wrong terminal. Simple as that but didn't think of it until earlier.

I was going to say having the fan come on without first getting it to light off sounded weird.
