As the title says, I'm curious as to if anyone offers and has used an epoxy with a non-grey base, or at least a heavy enough broadcast that the floor appears some other color than grey. Photos are a plus.

Ask and you shall receive.

I did the Rust Oleum EpoxyShield Pro in Tile Red this weekend. I did two coats ( 1 Saturday morning, 1 Sunday morning) of the Tile Red and one of the clear (this morning). Both color coats had the color flecks added since I wasn't sure that 1 kit would cover the entire floor. I added the anti-slip from the clear coat to the second color coat. I am very happy with the results and so are my new neighbors. I had compliments from everyone that walked by each day and a few of them wanting me to do their garages.

Pics are attached. I was busy with all kinds of projects this weekend (three days in a row), so I missed the right light to take accurate photos of the color. If you have a dealer near you with a full epoxy shield display, the Tile Red sample is pretty accurate minus the clear.

I have used UCoat It on numerous occasions, and they offer beige, tile red, blue, black, and white. I have striped some bays with their safety colors(red & yellow), but I suppose you could do the whole floor in those colors as well. The flakes can be broadcast to any density you need although this creates greater texture and requires an second clear coat.

Boiler,

Thanks for sharing the pictures. It's tough to tell how "dark" the color is though. Do you think it makes the garage feel "darker" than if you painted with a lighter color?

Thanks,
Ed

PS- It looks striking! The contrast is a lot better than most grey/tan/white combinations. I was thinking I'd use the tan kit, but you have me re-thinking that plan now.

You're right, it is tough to tell how dark it really is in a photo. I've only been able to take pics when it's nearly dark out so I've had the flash on which distorts the color. I'm going to try to take some clearer pics this weekend in sunshine. It's also tough to tell if it makes the garage feel darker since I don't really have any light in there to speak of and nothing is primed or painted. If you have a home center with a full Epoxy Shield display, take a look at the Tile Red sample in the gottom corner. It's about as close to the real color as I can show you until this weekend.

Here's what I do know. The red gives good contrast to dropped nuts and bolts. It also shows dust easily. I started building a workbench and shelves this weekend and running a broom over the floor leaves a lot of sawdust. I ended up using my shop vac on the entire floor.

I looked at tan and the two grays and just decided they weren't for me. The red is definitely an attention getter. It helps that it matches the trim and front door on my house. I've had more than a few good comments on the floor.

This is the brand we used in our kennel. IMHO it seems tougher than the Rustoleum Pro, which our neighbor used in his garage. It may also be the application. We did our own and my husband was obsessive about the prep work being done exactly right, not sure about the neighbor's install, but it is wearing pretty significantly and is a year newer than ours.
Anyway, we are thrilled with ours and the customer service was fabulous. I believe they have 8 base colors.
