He has ms and he weighs about 270. well you guessed it. Out again. well I am starting to feel a bit better so I figured I would start on my shop again. Getting some walls up now.

Love the build and the pool. Take it easy with your back. I first did mine three years ago and have done it about 4 times since then. I'll learn to take it easy one day.

my back is so fun. bending over it finds this nice warm fuzzy feeling every once in a while. Brings me to my damn knees. Doc asked if I pissed my pants yet? YET??!! oh joy.

I gave up going to the doc and just go straight to the physio when mine blows out. It doesn't help with the pain but she sure looks a lot better than the doc and I would rather her give me the massage than take pain meds.

Looking like a real great shop there i8. I was enjoying the heck out of it until I came across the pool story, followed by what looks to me one heck of an amazing pool! After that you've got me sold, I'm moving in. Not only do you have an amazing space for working, you've got the relaxation right outside.

i8...Where does the drain go to in the bottom of the pool? Does it go to the pump/filter system? Also are the sides made out of galvanized metal?

At first I thought it was an above ground pool until I took another look at it.

I put my own pool in about 20 years ago from a kit I got from Wonder Pools in Arkansas. Hired a person to dig the hole and my neighors and I did the labor. Saved about 1/2 of the total cost that way. Back then the walls could be treated wood, Galvanized metal or a polymer. You could switch my system to pump from the skimmers or from the bottom drain. Actually my kit didn't come with the bottom drain I added it myself. Now the pool is in disrepair and would cost almost as much as when I built it to get it back to working order. Suggest is not to put any pvc joints under the concrete if you can avoid them.

The pool is all aluminum made up of a foam sandwich for side walls. It works out well. slight r value. The walls are 53 inches high. I don't need a shallow end so this works out very well. all the lines run to a self priming pump behind the building so it is nice and quiet. Still have a bunch to do on the building and have to put the fence up but the weather has turned here so now it is shop building time.
thanks for the complements guys, it has been a lot of blood sweat and swearing so far.

Well toady I fixed the second mistake on the building. The flashing for the wainscoting one the south wall only got over lapped an inch and in the heavy rain we had it leaked. first time I noticed it. Thank god I was outside that night. I hopefuly fixed it. I tapped it down a bit so that it didn't hold water then filled the joint with caulk then caulked the top. I am not going to post a picture of it because my caulk job ***** and don't need to be shamed any more then I shame myself about it. :lol_hitti

Well I got the first section of my lumber storage done. It's almost 10foot deep and almost 5 foot wide. Probably over built but Its all i could come up with. takes way to much time too. There is going to be 4 sections and then my air compressor and dust collection will be on top of it. I have an idea to try and isolate the them from the structure to keep the sound transmission down. We will see if it works.

Well, just finished the thread (and all your Flickr pics). 3 things come to mind...1. If thats your wife, your a very lucky man. 2. You'll never be James Bond. 3. Why the 2 year break on the build? Now, having been born and raised in So. Cal. I've never seen a pool constructed like that, but it sure turned out **** About your back, Take care of it. I had my first back surgery at 30 and 2 more 12&13 years ago (I'm 53), you dont want to end up like me. The Doc asked you 'bout pissin yer pants, theres a reason. My ex messed up her back causing that to happen, surgery was the only way to fix it, something about pressure on her innards. You seem to have the same luck I do when it comes to projects, if it's gonna happen it will happen to me :dunno:. That barn is going to come out great, keep at it.

This lumber storage rack is taking so much more time then I ever thought. Should work nice but damn it needs to be done. Just about done, just got one more side piece to put up then cut 2x6's for the floor for the air compressor and dust colection

:rocker:
The wood storage rack is done. Still have to build the dividing wall foe the dust collector and Air compressor.
I am thinking of putting a layer of foam/rubber anti fatigue mat down then 3/4 mdf. Figure that might isolate it from the structure since they are going to be sitting up ontop of this

SO I got the speaker selector and the 2 small sets of speakers from parts express today. so I stole the speakers out of my kitchen and wired every thing together so I could see what sounds good together and make sure the old stereo can carry the load. :scared: gets a little warm with every thing on at almost full vol. probably will never have all the rooms playing. Should be tool room and auto shop or tool room and wood shop.

Hope everyone made it through the storms this weekend. I spent yesterday cleaning up from it. Back in the shop running wire. Got the feeds for the compressor, lift/dust collector and wall outlet/table saw run. kind of impressed with myself 2 125' rolls cut into 5 pieces with 5' form one and 7 ' from the other left over. I was afraid I was going to have to borrow a cable stretcher from someone on the last run but i rerouted it.:rocker:
