OCD insulation issues

Got a question for you all. I have a 40x70 with 12' ceiling shop and I have the ceiling done with steel and blown in insulation. The shop also has 3 10x10 doors. Located in NW Ohio.

I have tried to get the walls done but im only one guy. With that being said I have about 3/4 of about 20ft done with r19 and drywall (pegboard and cabinets). So 20ft by 8ft tall, there is a 4ft loft space above I didnt get to yet. This is on a west facing wall and the building is stick built with 2x6 and "black board" for the exterior panel.

I am on the fence about finishing the wall insulation. I know 2" of closed cell spray foam would be great to seal the "black board" but I have already started with the one section of r19. So I have 3 options as I see it.

First being just have the remaining areas foamed and move on.

Second tear off the drywall and r19 in that 20ftx8ft section and have it all foamed at once. I feel like the second option is my ocd

Third just finish the rest off with r19 and save about 2g in just insulation cost alone.

When you say black board, do you mean the Cellotex

I'd continue with the fiberglass insulation and get the outside covered up siding ? Metal ribbed ?

I guess that is the black board, its a fiber type sheet. Basically they built the walls and they are mostly covered with this and there are a few spots that have plywood (im guessing for strength) and then the whole outside is vinyl sided

Probably plywood in the corners for shear strength would be my quick guess.

I'd be happy with fiberglass as that's what I'm doing in my addition. However, the top/bottom of the wall cavity will be filled with spray foam (Great Stuff) to prevent any air leakage at sill plate. I also used Zip sheathing and taped all the seams.

Personally, I'd get it all insulated, then go back and cover the walls. Get it where it will hold the heat so you can work out there this Winter.

The sad thing ia im done with most things, now i have to remove a ton of stuff to expose the walls

We've all been there. live and learn.

Welcome to GJ. Stroll through the gallery section, you'll find many builds where guys will not put anything inside till the interior is finished. . . it's not their first rodeo.

Sounds like the black board isn’t nearly as strong as wood. You will gain a lot of strength with spray foam.

My holding tank for my oil changes on the lift has a sight gauge on the side so you can see how full it is... was time to empty so hooked up the air hose and well one of the fittings wasnt on correctly and the hose let go under like 30psi.....BOOM
