Well I hope this will help. This is my first SS.

I am an engineer by day and machinist/fabricator by night. I love Dr Pepper, I collect cool test indicators and 0-1" micrometers and old machinist related things. Some things I would love to get are; carbide tipped scribe, the Harborfreight swivel impacts, or a zip tie rack.

I have a mill, lathe, drill press, surface grinder, welders and sheet metal equipment, so anything that goes with those will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to whomever my SS is and Merry Christmas.

I like tools. Like to collect USA tools and related from ratchets and wrenches to catalogs. USA vintage to new stuff, pretty much most automotive or industrial brands. European tools are great too, (part of last year's gift received was WERA mini screwdriver set, very nice and useful in case anyone needs help with what to buy for their recipient.)

I will appreciate any gift so don't worry, something you think is cool I'm sure I will like too!

I had better get in on this since a search of my recent posts would only tell you how pissy sarcastic and grumpy I am.

I have a pretty good tool collection but appreciate about any well made tool.

I'm about to repaint the trim and wall stripes in my garage and will be going with the red and yellow used by Shell Oil so I've been on the lookout for any vintage Shell oil signage, banners or other Shell items.

I just put a 4 post Bend Pak up and it sure is dark underneath with the Mustang stored for the winter and blocking the ceiling lights.

I think it's impossible to have too many good screwdrivers, ratchets and USA vise grips.

I have a 2014 Harley Street Glide, a 2013 Mustang GT Conv. and a 2012 F-150.

Not much of a hat or T shirt wearer.

I drink most anything, smoke cigars and usually listen to older rock and even older blues music.

Dear Santa,

I like American made tools, but especially vintage ones, like Proto, Williams, Plomb, Craftsman, Armstrong, Wright, Stanley, etc. Vintage wrenches, sockets, hammers, etc. are all good. I like license plates as well. If you have a T-shirt, I wear an XL.

I'm not greedy, I'll take what you bring me, and I will enjoy the gift!

Merry Christmas!

Second year in, last year was a blast!

I recently bought a Hobart 210MVP welder, and am learning how to really use it. Any fun or welding instruction/tooling/clamping/protection would be helpful.
We live in a log home, and I love cheeky log home things.
Interesting medium shirts from your local area are always cool.
I've broken three 1/2" impact extensions this year... Maybe it's me?
I like multi bit screwdrivers and have been asked a few times "how many do you need?" The answer is as many as possible- the older and more interesting the better!
I also collect rad 80s and early 90s mountain bikes, crazy neon colors and odd anodized parts make me happy.
Really anything funny that will make me laugh and my wife roll her eyes is always a great gift!

I'm a DIY not a pro. I work in the computer field and tinker at night. I'm brand agnostic when it comes to tools.

Some hobbies include ham radio, metal working, and coffee roasting.

I don't have a lot on my list this year, so please feel free to be creative! If you're completely stuck, a nice wire stripper would be much appreciated.

Getting into woodworking now that I have the space. Surprises are the best, looking forward to this.

Already got my gift to give.

For my Santa:
Here are some of the things I've been looking for, and my Christmas wish list:

I have recently been favoring Matco or Witte Top Torque II screwdrivers or nut drivers. I'm looking for long ph. 2 and slotted drivers, primarily (dreaming)
In general, I like high quality screwdrivers. Wouldn't mind trying PB Swiss, Felo, or Wiha
I like most things made in EU. My tastes have become increasingly German as of late.
I like good chisels/punches and I use them frequently (I like Proto/Plomb, Starrett, Mac, Mayhew, etc.)
I'm shockingly deficient in quality 1/4" sockets and SAE wrenches
Alligator clip ons for my Fluke 87V
Been looking for a nice ~16oz finish hammer
could use a nice 12oz and 8oz ball peen and body hammers/dollies
Quality wood chisels
Snap On (or similar) mini picks
Various quality mini pliers and regular sized pliers
Quality soldering aids (Tweezers, rosin core solder, etc.)
These Snap On sockets:

Aside from that, I generally like truck brands for mechanic tools, electrical brands for electrical, specialty brands, German stuff. Precision and quality is important to me; cosmetics aren't. I don't beat on my stuff. In the tool box thread, you can see what I own. I do auto, home, prototyping, metal work, vintage musical instrument restoration, wood working and furniture building.
I hope this post didn't just make your job harder. I just like nice tools. I'd rather have one great tool than a 40 piece set of okay tools.

Favorite brands (in no particular order): Snap On, Mac, Proto/Plomb, Matco, Williams, Knipex, Witte, Felo, PB Swiss, Bahco, Wiha, Mitutoyo, Starrett, Brown and Sharpe, Fluke, Mayhew, Ridgid, Makita, Milwaukee, etc.

...p.s. I don't wear hats, I'm usually a large or smallish XL in shirts and jackets. Also, I don't drink really anything more than water. My tastes tend to be a little more high brow, (but I promise I'm not a snob!)

I'm a Mustang guy, but 60's and 70's Fords are in my wheelhouse too. Please no hand tools...I have more than I can comprehend now. XL shirt, Dallas Cowboys fan (so you can pick on me if you wish), items of local pride are always cool! Have fun!

I'm not picky either. Doesn't have to be tool related, could be something from your part of the country and doesn't have to cost a lot. I will like it, no worries.

I typically don't post in threads where guys tell their Secret Santa what they want. I don't ask for things because, for me, getting stuff is not what it's all about. I enjoy the challenge of researching my recipient's posts and finding appropriate gifts.

Over the years this forum has grown, and it seems to me that it's harder to get to know all the members. Few of my posts tell you guys much about me. It seems that most of my posts are opinions about tools, a few tips and techniques, and the occasional smart *** remarks. So, I guess that I should tell you a little bit about me.

I'm 52 years old, but don't feel a day over 30 (with the exception of my back, and my poor eyesight). I have been married for 30 years, and have two kids. I've loved cars since I was a kid. I began my career as a dealership mechanic at 17. I worked as a mechanic, and then as an automotive machinist (that's a unit mechanic that also runs machine tools) for about 18 years. I managed a small body shop for a short time as well. Meanwhile, I earned a degree in mechanical engineering. I've done design engineering, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering. At present, I manage the quality systems for a manufacturing facility. Along the way, I've also done powder coating professionally, installed glass block windows, installed Rotary lifts, and owned a small surplus business.

I'm not into watching sports. Although, I will occasionally watch hockey or soccer. I played indoor soccer for years. I enjoy target shooting. I have a reasonably equipped hobby shop. I do some machining at home. Unfortunately, I have a small lathe, and no mill. I also enjoy metal fabrication. I don't smoke or drink coffee or wear hats. I do enjoy tequila and good craft beer. I collect key chains (amazingly enough, they are mostly tool related :bounce:), 1/4 drive ratchets, 4" adjustable wrenches, and pocket screwdrivers. Collecting vises is another of my vices. My latest automotive project is a '92 Jeep YJ with under 70k miles. It's my first venture into offroading. My daily driver is an '07 Nissan Xterra. I also own a '94 Dodge Ram truck, a '40 Oldsmobile, a '84 VW Jetta GLI, and a '59 Anglia (that weird English Ford). I like to use vintage tools. I keep them in vintage Lista and Mac boxes.

I'm sure that anything that my SS sends will be wonderful. All my Secret Santas in years past have sent super cool gifts to me. Thanks to all of you. I will do my best to give my victim gifts that he will enjoy. Hell, that's more fun than getting stuff anyway. :rocker:

Also to add, I have been getting pretty involved in shooting lately. 1911, and a ruger charger "pistol". Plan on building an AR15, will be starting with a complete stag lower I have.

Sorry guys first year of secrete Santa. I'm finding it really hard to get to know my guy and what he likes! Reading thru his past posts, and threads I still not sure what to get him! That's why I have posted a second time, I think my guy should post a second, or third time please! Haha

Auto technician by trade so any tool of any kind is cool.

Little about me, 26 years old, happily married. We just bought our first house a few months ago. It has a garage for me so anything for that would be amazing. I enjoy the outdoors, snowmobiling, hunting, camping. I love case brand knives. Something my grandfather got me hooked on. Anything that has to do with garages or outdoors interests me. Also am starting to get hooked on wood working, previous home owner left me a bunch of nice oak planks so im trying to find uses for those around the house.

I am grateful to be apart of this website and the secret santa, i just think its really cool what we do here. I havent been as active as i used to be(new job, new house taking up most of my time) and i hope to change that in the future.

Just to keep it simple, I'm an engineer by trade. I've worked primarily in the chemical industry and have a great respect for industrial tools and those who have to use them day in and day out. My tool collection consists almost completely of quality U.S. made tools of various manufacturers. I love going to estate and garage sales and rescuing old tools and putting them back in use.

I do a lot more woodworking than I do wrenching, but I did recently purchase a farmall cub that I will be restoring and I've had an old willys jeep in the barn for a while that needs my attention.

I'd be grateful to receive any gift as part of this secret santa swap this year!

Hey SS,

I think I post enough in various places to give ideas but perhaps not. My giftee was a ***** lots of comments and very vague hints at things they enjoy but nothing solid. So I figure I might have to give some straight up hints to make things easier for my SS.
In no particular order: I do metal work / fabrication mainly and refurb old machines along with putting my Smithy stuff back together did it for a while when I was younger got out of it and now getting back into it SLOWLY damn prices for stuff have gone way up!!LOL. I collect Pexto hand tools have most of the standard hammers and a few pliers etc . I like a good blade and own things that go boom.

Things that are on my list to pick up more welding magnets, some more 3/4 pony pipe clamps ( can never have enough clamps) , New raw hide mallet , Black Smithing tools I only have just started getting them together have the important things hammers and anvil lol . If you go through my pictures you will see my shop and a lot of my machines so accessories for them are fine .

My SS should be able to figure out something from the above random thoughts.
