I'm planning on a 958 set myself. Got a single wright grip wrench several years ago and now I end up digging through the toolbox to find that specific one any time I need that size.

Ive been looking for an excuse to buy a full set for quite a while now.

i wish wright had a whole line of combos with the semi round body of #1142.
the body is beefy, comfortable, the style seems to start at 1 5/16 and up from there.

Does anyone have any experience with the old stock Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver?

http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/Craftsman/47473.html

This is the one that was made in Germany with the pivot handle. The idea intrigues me, but this seems like the kind of tool where the ratcheting mechanisms would be getting better and better on newer models.

They gave me one for free one year. I don't use it. I'm not much of a bit guy.

But it is smooth. It doesn't make crisp clicking noises, I don't think, but the drag on the return-turn is very light. The tilting handle for leverage is a nice feature. Or you can keep the handle vertical and it feels like a normal screwdriver handle.

Thanks. It's one of the countless little items that I have looked at on Epstein's site and always wondered about.

Jori, do you think Wright would consider some kind of group buy? I was thinking, if we could get a decent price on the 715, 915, 758, and 958, I would bet that a lot of people would put up some cash for at least one of those sets.

Or would that be too much work/not enough interest/something Wright wouldn't do? Just an idea... feel free to call me an idiot if warranted.

Not for Epstein's Day, but maybe at some point in the future, if you guys decide to do a Wright Day.

I am currently working with some other tool manufacturer's to be a part of Epstein's day in some way. Right now on the list is: Armstrong, SK, Vaughan and Channellock. More details to follow.

I'm going to vote FAIL on this one.

I bought one a couple years ago. The detent on the break-over handle is too weak and the handle bends unexpectedly during use.

I used it half a dozen times and then threw it in the drawer and haven't touched it since.

It did come with a handful of bits to get you started.

Sorry.

Thanks Jori,

I have been looking over the website like a kid (60's) looking at the Christmas catalog. HJE is the best.

I am only speaking for myself, but Jori this doesn't matter what "goodies" are offered as what matters most to me is that I get support your family and American jobs are being supported. Anything is just icing on the cake.

To me, the fact that these companies do anything at all is very awesome and fact that manufacturers have responded to a forum sponsored thread is also pretty amazing as well.

I'll be first to admit, any chance to support American manufacturing is WELL worth the money spent and even if I and others are a small minority in caring about this detail, at least there a place I can find others with similar interests.

I am plan to continue with what I started last year and purchase a bunch of wright sockets on the fourth. That will, at least, be the base of my purchase. May get more if the funds allow it.

I really need a complete set of hex bit sockets, so this will probably be the bulk of my purchase. Anyone recommend a set?

You'll definitely enjoy using those Norseman twist drills and Wright sockets. I've yet to find another company that produces such high quality American (and union made) twist drills and these have really served me well over the years.

I have a couple of Wright sockets and they are terrific as well. I am likely going to buy a set of Wright deep sockets myself with this order.

im thinking of the SP-29p set in jobber length , I don't really need every size in 64th increments, just a good range that will last

I've been planning on retiring my current shallow 3/8 sockets and passing them on to my buddy's 6yr old son along with some combination wrenches to get him started, seems like a good time to buy the new ones! I wish the wright sae set went to 1" but i'll just grab the individual ones to round out the set.

I disagree, I find it to be pretty decent to use. Maybe they're just hit or miss? Sometimes a bit too easy to reverse it while using. Mine didn't come with bits though, I guess because it was one of the freebs they did another time?

You say that now, but I thought the same and now find myself wanting A-Z, 1-60, and metric sets. Good choice in a drill bit set though!

Jori, if there are details of any kind regarding giveaways, procedure etc. that you think I should add to the first post in this thread, please let me know. I check in here every day, but my activity is still not what it used to be. I am missing a lot, I am sure.

Should be a few more announcements by next week. After they've all come out, I'll let you know and we can work something out, so everyone can see them in the first post.

thanks Bull!

Jori, thank you very much for working out a deal with Channellock. So we have a custom stamped Wright 9/16 inch wrench and this super cool USA made Channellock six in one driver.

Also, do you sell any of Channellock smooth jaw pliers at all? Those would be neat to own.

I am just curious, but is there more of those Wright shirts left at all? Thank you once again.

That is really nice of you to give your friend's son your current sockets/wrenches to him. Sure beats electronics that will eventually become obsolete as I am sure he'll remember the tools you gave him when he grows up.

So as I am busily working on this new website getting it ready for Epstein's Day, a thought occurred to me, which is, that debuting the website on Epstein's Day is not going to be helpful in terms of giving you guys enough time to actually browse through it, look at the 1000's of new Wright products, and also be able to adequately complain about how much you liked the old website better. :)

So I propose that on July 4th, we debut the new website, and then give everyone a week to look through it, then we have the official Epstein's Day on July 11th. What do you guys think? This would also give the US manufacturer's more time to come up with free goodies to throw in with your orders. I could go either way, but I think this might make more sense for everyone involved.

^I like that idea. The way the site is now unless I know exactly the name of what I'm looking for it's difficult to find.

Awesome. Well, if there are no official objections, let's plan on July 4th as the official launch of our new website and the 11th as Epstein's Day. Might post this at the beginning of the thread, so people will know.

My only complaint is having to use my old wrench set for another week. ( buying wrightgrip a in metric and standard) I'm a majority rules guy so whatever works for everyone is good for me.

Well if this gives you more time and is helpful in the long run, I can wait. Truthfully, I was looking forward to July 4th, but I've waited a year for this event, so I can wait a couple other days. Especially considering I am going for that custom made Wright wrench.

I know this isn't an easy to upload all the Wright items on your site, but I really thank you for your hard work in doing so.
