Jori, this is a feature that might be cool down the road. Although you are able to add an "unlimited" amount of items when you click on items, but if you could add multiple items while not on the product description that would be cool.

In case I didn't describe this well, I'll provide two examples. See with this example there are multiple items listed. Whereas when you click on the item precisely, you'll see there is a place to specify the amount you want.

Doesn't have to happen at all, but might be a neat feature.

Hmm. I like the new site a lot. I do kinda miss the old sight, but we'll all adjust soon.

The wishlist and nicer product photos are a big improvement.

Jori, here's a product that got put in the wrong place. It's a Wright ignition wrench set that got put in the SK area:

http://www.harryepstein.com/index.p...c-minature-metric-combination-wrench-set.html

Good catch. Here's the updated url:

http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/10-pc-minature-metric-combination-wrench-set.html

Only three days until Epstein Day. This should give me enough time to finalize what I want, but boy is this hard.

Have you received the shirts yet from SK Jori?

Jori, that is okay. This is July 8th and Epstein Day isn't until the 11th. I suppose I am just curious if SK went with Bayside or another manufacturer.

Out of curiosity, with the Wright branded, but Hyde sourced items, do you know if there is model number associated with those items? I.E. if the item doesn't populate on the Hyde website, but does on Wright do you think they have the Hyde model number?

I ask this, as I've tried to call Hyde multiple instances and all I receive is a message informing me "All circuits are busy." I wonder if there is an alternative number to call them at?

Well, it happened again..... the wife caught me filling up my wish list, and I got the dreaded; "you don't need any more tools" speech.

Jori,

This is hard to put in words, but this means a great deal and is a sincere honor that artwork I had done a while ago made it to that article. Thank you very, very much.

That was a terrific article as well. More importantly, the message was very calm and logical as well.

I'll fully admit, if I was told I spending too much of my own money, my tone might not be as calm and non aggressive. Similar to most people, I work very hard for my money and thankfully I have a job.

Being that this is money I've earned with my own sweat and blood, I don't feel that I owe anyone an explanation on how I use this as long as what I am using this for is legal. That being said, I don't usually tell others how they should/need their money if they earned themselves. I might only if I felt that how I was spending my money came into question however.

Long story short, there is a better approach when communicating with others and good communication means you can do so in a understanding and rational way. That is what I extrapolated from that article and that is a really positive message.

At first I thought Jori was telling Duck Tape Bill to solve his wife issue with duct tape.

But I guess that would have been "Duck Tape, Bill", rather than "Duck Tape Bill,".

LOL! love it:thumbup:

That is a great article. I always ask for box art, maybe I'll try to think of something my wife will like. Or maybe I can send you a picture of my front door, and you can camouflage the box to blend in and maybe she won't notice it.

Seriously though, I'm not going to get in trouble (too much), and since it is my money I get to spend it how I like. We do have a rule though; if it's over $500 we have to discuss it, or at least let the other one know about it. It's worked so far, so I'll stick to it. I do count her comment this morning as a "discussion" so you will be happy to know my order is growing...just kidding ;)

Is this Epstien Day like a sale where its like a flat rate 5,10% off across the board, or is it like certain items are discounted? Have never ordered from there, do you have to create an account?

Epstein's Day isn't a "get a deal day". It's our way of supporting US jobs by buying US made tools (primarily) from a US business that supports the US economy.

That's why it is traditionally held on july 4th. This year it had to be pushed back a week to July 11th to allow HJE's new website to launch.

This event (like most GJ events) isn't about what we can get, it's about what we can do to support the economy by supporting US businesses or manufacturers.

The giveaways are just HJE's and the Manufacturer's way of saying thank you back.

Please review page one of this thread Sk-Mike. There is NO discounts provided, as Harry J Epstein day is not about discounts. This day is about supporting American manufacturing jobs and a small family run business.

Just to help you out, if you spend $100 on any Wright tools, that will make you eligible for a custom stamped Wright 9/16 wrench. Additionally, if you spend $100 on any SK items you'll receive a shirt. Lastly, if you spend $25 on any Channellock tools, they are providing a four in one screwdriver.

If you have anymore questions, please let me know as I'd be happy to help.

When ordering on the 11th, is there a way to let HJE know that I heard about the event on GJ? I was thinking it'd be nice for them to be able to track how many orders that they receive from this site and see the support that they get for their efforts in hosting the event. This may have been covered in a previous post, I'm at work and didn't have time to read through them all. Thanks all.

When you order, there's a place for comments and instructions.

With the old website, there was a comment box and I am certain there is one with the new site as well.

If you really wanted to you could post your order number here as others have done in the past.

NotEnough: Do you mean the USA made red boxes or the Canada made tool boxes?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think it's great how they are reaching out to the community and wanted them to know for certain that it's working.

Jeremy, I remember when I placed my first order with Epstein's, so there a learning curve. Not sure what is different (if anything) with the checkout process in terms of the comment box.

You are welcome. We are all in this together as we all want to support Epstein's and buy some tools. I've been waiting for this day for so long, I am super excited about this.

Appreciate the history behind Epstein Day! I'm fairly new to GJ and sadly had not heard of HJE before joining. I just didn't know what I was missing. I've got a cart with stuff in it, just waiting till the 11th to pull the trigger...gives me a day or so still to add even more!

In the past the SOP has been :

In the comments box at checkout, put

GJ Epstein's Day Order
[your GJ user name]
T-shirt size (If your order qualifies)
any requests for box art if wanted.
any other comments you wish to make.

But, I expect that Jori will clarify when he gets the chance.

I should've mentioned this earlier. Yes this is correct. Thanks bringing this up.

If I remember correctly, I've been buying items on Epstein Day since 2013 and what a fun event this is.

Definitely loving the wish list feature and even the listing of the weight of the items. I guess that information isn't critical to end users, but is a cool detail none the less.

Always fun to browse the various categories and find something I never knew I needed... Until now! Like last year's Epstein Day when I ordered my flooring kneepads. Now I use them all the time!

I need a planer (or a plane?). The kind of thing with a handle and a blade to use to narrow up the sides of a door or window frame. Can anyone find that on the site? I'd sure rather buy one on Epstein's Day than get some piece of junk from HF.

I've had a couple Channel Lock plier sets in my Amazon wishlist for quite a while and was thinking about getting them from you guys on the 11th. I only see individual pliers though. Do you not have Channel Lock sets or am I looking in the wrong place? I followed the navigate by tool type link.

Also, I've never heard of "pump pliers". What does that mean?

Thanks,
Chris

We don't sell planes on the site, but we do have some really old ones here in the store.

Peoria Man, I just did a rudimentary search on the Epstein website for planes/planers, but nothing populated. Not sure if they sell those or not.

If you are looking for a American made plane, the only company that I know of that makes those are Lie Nielsen these days.

There was a time a long, long ago when Stanley made planes in America, but those days are long over.

EDIT: This post was made before Jori posted. Sorry about that.

We do not currently carry any of the channel lock plier sets. A "pump plier" is a shortened term for "water pump pliers" which is just another way to refer to a groove joint plier. See wiki

Wow, some nice tools on that site! Bet they'd last a lifetime.

Lie Nielsen planes are awesome. The Veritas stuff from Lee Valley is really nice too but made in Canada rather than the US.

No problem on the sets. I checked the price on the same pliers individually and you ended up right with Amazon on the price before any tax or shipping.

Has anyone seen the magnetic welding bracket, clamps, welders squares or whatever the hell you call them on the new site? Looked under magnets, welding supplies and searched. Mine are in need of replacement and this is a good time to do it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
