I'm trying to buy a good set of offset screwdriver. It seems that Snap on only has the Blue Point version.

Does anyone know if they are good? :rocketwho

Thank you!

I have to admit that I've never thought about quality in terms of that particular tool, there's always been a no-name brand one lying around somewhere that worked fine.

If you're worried about having the Taiwanese one (as a guess) round out the screwhead and then break off and put your eye out, I guess you could buy a set of these:

I can see where the handle might be of some value.

Thank you for the fast reply. Good to know the regular will work fine. The one in Amazon looks nice, but kind of expensive. I saw the Craftsman set is only $8.

Yeah.. those are way better than the offset screwdrivers you'r asking about. You can put pressure ontop of the ratchet and actually break loose/tighten the screws. Unless you really have a tight working space.. these are good. I have the c-man set, looks exactaly like those Kstar ones. I hardly use the angled ones tho..

I'd say you need both kinds, the ratchet with a bit, and the Z shaped thing for the really tight spots. I think I have Craftsman and also Harbor Freight, they both **** so much I now refuse to put back on a clamp without a hex head.

If I were you, I would just buy the C-man Z shaped one (or a set) first and then one of those C-man ratcheting types as well. You don't need to get too fancy on this stuff.

I have that Craftsman version (got it in a set of screwdrivers) and it does a great job of sitting in the bottom of my toolbox I think I might have a Kobalt version to. In fact, PM me... I might have an extra one....

I have used those z shaped ones twice. Both my grandfather (who once owned a garage, then worked at another years later), and my father, also have/used one by General tools. Just one more brand to keep your eye out for (hardware stores carry this brand).

I have this craftsmen ratchet screwdriver http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00947478000P?vName=Tools&cName=Hand+Tools%2C+General+Purpose&sName=Screwdrivers
and it works great for the times i have to remove and install mudflaps or fender liners.

Although it is the only time i have seen use for it, it does its job well.

It also works with any 1/4" bit.

Uh-oh, I rated this thread, maybe i shouldn't do that. I made this the only 5 star thread on the main page except the the "stickies". Please have pity on the new guy, haze me lightly.
