ok, I'm sold on vct - pattern suggestions? lets see yours

So after a lot of thought like so many others have I've decided on vct. I have a 24 x 32 rectangle with an adjoining area which is 18 x 18. Basically a capital "L" shape. The 18 x 18 will be work bench, tool boxes, the other cars and 4 post lift. I'm interested in pictures of what you've done.

Whatever pattern you decide upon you may wish to consider that tires will quickly leave a brown stain on VCT, real quickly if they are ultra-sticky high performance rubber. Its a ***** to remove as well.

Design your flooring so that any area where rubber meets tile you have a darker coloured tile or else get used to parking on some sort of floor matt material to avoid staining your VCT. If the brown stain doesn't bother you, no problem. I am most satisfied with my VCT floor because I decided that a darker tile under my vehicles would suit my purposes.

I went with the Black & White Check, with a red border, and grey for the work area. I like the light grey to find dropped parts etc on the floor.

I too went with gray in the work area and B/W check surrounded by red. This pic was taken as I finished putting it down but before it was waxed.

I broke from the standard pattern. I went for the most reflective color i could find that i didn't think would show stains very much since i do some detail work in the garage and need all the light i can get.

I like that - there's a floor in some of the lab space here at work with a white field and green and purple accent squares. Really great looking. That building has lots of different patterns. The Armstrong site has pattern suggestions, though mostly for schools, hospitals and businesses.

I like that a lot too!!!! Using 4 tiles to form a square makes a big difference to me! I have never been crazy about the standard 12" squares. Too busy for my taste.
