I've been wanting a set of whitworth sockets so when I saw these I laid my money down. The set includes 1/4"whitworth to 3/4" whitworth plus the SAE sockets 7/16" to 7/8".
All SAE sockets are marked D and the number of 1/16ths; followed by the brand name; and made in USA then the actual size is stamped also in proper fractions. Example: a 7/8" socket reads "D14 Blackhawk made in USA 7/8"
The whitworth I can't understand at all. Markings are "WD 130 Blackhawk Made in USA" and that's it. The WD 130 is the 3?4" whitworth. Next is WD 120, WD 110, WD 101, WD 92, WD 82, WD 71, WD 60, and WD 52 (which is the 1/4" whitworth.
The seller was a great guy who inherited them from his grandfather and wanted them to go to someone who could use them. I didn't dicker on his $40.00 asking price as I was happy enough just to find this set of whitworth sockets.
