I have this old Dayton motor I had on a old compressor.

It's great motor and turns at 1725 RPM. My question is I want to change out my 3495 rpm motor I have on my drill press with this Dayton.

Only issue I see with doing this is this old motor has these.

This motor was mounted horizontally now I want to mount it vertically. Would this be a issue with lubrication? And what is the correct lube to put in these? The old timer I got this from years ago told me he used wheel bearing grease.

Those fittings are for oil use, just a couple squirts once a year or so with the use you would give it. I'm pretty sure they make 90 deg fittings you can use. You might even be able to plug them and just squirt the oil in and replace the plugs.

There is a oil that you can get at a/c supply and appliance parts house for motor bearing/bushings. It comes in plastic bottle and has a long tube that extends out to get in those little holes.
