Old Genie: no lights on either sensor

I am going to check voltage at both sensors - I think that cleaning around the door when I replaced lift cables and springs I might have broken a wire or connection. There is no light at either sensor. It's an early 90's Genie system. The sensors worked until today when I worked on it. The wires appear very old and probably fragile. Do you know how and what for to check terminals (at the operator) on the Genie? Am I looking for AC or DC low voltage current?

The model is Genie IS550 /A. I have just downloaded the manual and will check it and the wires more carefully tomorrow.

Thanks
