OK, so today at a local swap meet I bought an old Holley 4V carb because it was cheap and it has a strange feature.
The carb is a 4160 model (secondary metering plate) and the list number is 1850 (not 1850-2 or such, just 1850).
What is strange is that it has, what appears to be, an additional balance tube connecting the front and rear bowls. It has the normal aluminum balance tube, then just below that it has a smaller brass tube.
I will try to get a photo on here later, but for now, has anyone ever seen a Holley 4V 4160 with such a tube and/or know what it is for?
