old leather cutter

Found in an old toolbox, I had to have help ID'ing this one. Looks cool to me. There are also a dozen or so "JJ&S" large sewing needles, so now it makes sense.

That's pretty neat; looks much cooler than the cheap wood ones that float around nowadays. Is that a sharpened file being used as the razor/cutter?

That's a really nice vintage strap cutter, paul, in very good condition! I found a remnant of one in terrible condition and missing its handle mixed in with some other leather working tools in a WWI era ammo box. You can see more in this thread, if you're interested.

I'm not sure either, but it looks less like a file now that I can see it better and more like it belongs with the tool.
