Drivesit: The Toro is a project I bought 7 months ago. I've done some of the mechanicals on it and have taken it to some tractor rides and shows.

I've lived in the country most of my and for me it has many advantages. I did live in a housing development for about 3 years and I just didn't fit in plus I didn't like it.

Floor is still crack free and the heat is GREAT.

I think I will be doing some plowing this weekend but heat in the Jeep is good. Should get some shop time which does make me smile.

Had to take my wife to the Doc this week which put me near some of the big stores. I did some shopping for some wall cabinets and found nothing until I got to Sears. They had some white Gladiator cabinets on sale and even had them in stock. They are sturdy and were well packaged. I took two of them home and mounted them.

The last couple of days were spent moving the air compressor from the garage to the shop. Had to do some new plumbing to make it fit. Still have a lot of small stuff to move but we're operational with power,heat and air.

Clipped: did you plan all along to put that huge compressor in that spot or did it just work out that way. i'm guessing it's a 220 and not a 3 phase, but it looks big. maybe a 7.5 or 10 HP?

cabinets look great too.

i see the snow is sticking around for a while, but i bet the heat in the garage floor is awesome.

Drivesit: The compressor was planned fore that spot. It has a 5hp Baldor made in USA motor that draws 24 amps at 230 volts. Output is 17cfm at 175psi. It runs anything I hook to it with ease.

I spend most days in shop and the heated floor is the best.

how old is the compressor and did it come to you that way or did you upgrade the motor to an old tank?

i can't remember if you said what your heater and all the floor pipes cost, but sounds like it was WELL WORTH IT.

Drivesit: It took me along time to get to this point. My upstate NY shop was my airplane hangar and I had to work around the plane. Heat was a woodstove.

The air compressor was made in 1988. It came from a moving co. warehouse(CL ad).

The price on the heater was $2550. with free shipping. No blowers, no cold spots just comfort.

Clipped: do you still own the plane or did you have to give that up when you moved? are you a pilot and do you still fly? looks like you almost have enough land to have your own runway.

i had several clients that had homes on private airports and hangers that they really could have some serious tools and stuff in besides their plane(s).

you are doing a great job and doing it right. you also seem to have very little or now stress while doing this so is this your first build?

Drivesit: The hangar in NY was my first big project. I paid someone to bore the holes. The rest I did myself with some friends helping here and there. I prepped the site with my 1951 Cat D4, hauled the fill with a 1963 Ford dump truck and did the loading with a 1961 Int. tractor.

We flew the plane from our NY strip to 49 states 5 provinces and the Yukon landing at more than 475 airports. We also gave airplane rides to more than 100 local kids out of that strip in our back yard.

The plane was sold 10 years ago due to losing my medical cert. Hence the name clippedwings.

Still moving stuff to the shop. Used the lift for a front axle repair on the plow Jeep. That was nice.

Clipped: I hope you are ok. are you? your garage was amazing and i hope you survived to use it as you intended. post up just a smoke signal saying you are still alive and well if you don't have much to report cause it's sad how some of the members i've known and talked to on this site one day weren't there cause they went to that bigger dream shop in the sky.
