Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum..have been lurking around as a guest for a while and finally became a member. Yes I am a grave digger by occupation and yes I live in a historic cemetery with a nice big garage that I have full access to. I'm also the company's mechanic. Anyways..i found this old champion pneumatic machinery company air compressor hiding under a bunch of **** and 10 years of dust. Its a model # OE416F...serial # 56674. I found pressure test certifications from the 70s for this thing..anyways I got her to run but blew a fuse in our antiquated electrical system...got that fixed and now I'm going to tear this thing apart and clean everything up and possibly repaint it...im scared to tear the motor apart as I'm not sure what the torque specs are for piston rods and what not..but..thats why I'm here...if I'm going to restore this old beauty I'd like to go all the way..tear the motor down clean it all up and put all new gaskets and bearings in the crankshaft..im going to attempt to post some pictures but I'm not quite sure how....
PLEASE HELP ME RESTORE THIS OLD BEAUTY!!!
By the way...the tank is in great shape..only a little bit of rust on the bottom...it did have a 1/4" bleeder coming off the bottom so that leads me to believe at one point in time this thing was well taken care of
