I did a poor job of explaining myself, my friends compressor shuts off at 120 PSI. He thinks it should shut off at 100 PSI like you said, he'd like to know how to lower it to 100 PSI. Thanks for the reply.

Take the cover off the pressure switch and you'll find a small long screw, usually brass, that goes down thru the switch. Turning this screw counterclockwise will decrease the cutout pressure. Back it off a bit and cycle the compressor. Might have to do a few adjustments and run cycles to get it to just where he wants it. Since he's obviously not familiar with this, he needs to make all adjustments with power cord unplugged as there's live power within the switch enclosure anytime the unit is plugged in regardless of whether it's running or not.

sometimes the pressure switches are not adjustable, sometimes the adjusting screw is sealed with a glob.get friend to take a pic of the top of the switch with the cover removed

I'll see if I can get a photo of the switch. Thanks

Dudes I have both the red and green compressors with the 2 piston pumps on them but to answer the original starter of the thread here both these compressors have some 3/8" thick really dense felt filters and cheese ball little tin retainers. I do believe they are 100% stock because I knew both original owners (my uncle & my dad) and they wouldnot of monkeyd with them . Now this probably is not the correct spot to ask this but does anyone know if these pumps M/N J48C twin cylinder pumps are single or 2 stage ? Im guessing only single being because the 2 alike 2 3/4" ring bore cylinders but I might be wrong . Anyways both are for sale if ya need em thanks guys
