@olsenmotorsports , GJ lost my notification settings on your thread, so I just finished catching up on about 10 days of posts.
I was just curious as to how you handle FI tuning in a production setting. Do you have one guy who specializes in tuning? How about old school CIS, MFI or my favorite carbs. I remember using the better part of a tank of gas synchronizing my Weber carbs with a Unisyn. Fun times.
Hey bud! Great question
Motec tuning is outsourced. I happen to have who I think is the best in the world live by us in the city. He is one of the head guys at HPD in indycar.
The rest is all in house. CIS MFI etc. Three of us (myself included) are trained on those systems, and they are so easy to tune with the right equipment it isnt an issue for us,
I can tune carbs, but we turn all of that away, just isnt profitable. What I mean by that is there is really only one place to get them rebushed etc and the lead times are ridiculous, So I end up with a car sitting for 60 days waiting on machining for a job that just isn't profitable.
For tuning, the CIS stuff I have some pretty fancy 5 gas stuff, as well as widebands etc, Doesn't take long to get them dialed in, MFI I also have some pretty trick stuff we developed. Makes quick work of it
