One more wall covered with tin

I finally got some pics of the second wall I have covered with corrugated metal. All I have left is the front wall where the garage doors are at and the back wall where everything else is at. At first I wasn't going to put a backsplash up so to keep it basically level with my other side, but then changed my mind. I think when I do the wall with the garage doors, I may do the garage doors along with it. I tried some corrugated metal in it the other day and I think that although the insulation panels are in there I can still fit the metal. We'll see this weekend after I pick up some more metal from the lumber company.

I added some rope lighting behind the cabinet to wash down the metal, but it really doesn't show up until it is completely dark. I would have thought it would have lit things up more than it does, but then again I have what they call the "warm light" instead of the brighter lights.

Next is getting everything put back on the bench, then clearing out the closet to find my wiring Gremlin.

Very sturdy. I have stood on it and I weigh in at 245#. The wife and I actually have both stood on it together when she was helping me hang the lights on the ceiling. I wouldn't be afraid to toss an engine block on there. The bottoms of the 2x's are setting against the concrete blocks and bottom plate.

What I like about the angled legs is that I can clean all the way against the wall with no obstructions.

I really, really like how it looks. You may have said in an earlier thread how you cut it, but I don't remember. How do you cut it? It seems like it would be very noisy with a power saw.

I did use the circular saw when I did the other wall, but it was really noisy. I have a large pair of snips and ended up using those. The worst part of it was cutting out for the outlets. If it were a flat sheet, it wouldn't have been so bad, but trying to go around corners when you have corrugations takes a little time.

I like the lighting. I too have plans to install low voltage lights under the cabinets. Time and budget permitting I'm also going to do some inside as well. Was looking at strip LED.

Yes I painted the garage doors. They are just foam panels that insulate the door. When I get ready to do the other two walls, I'm going to put the corrugated metal in the bottom two panels. It'll be a tight fit, but the metal will fit.

Thank guys. I like the looks of it. I did think that the rope light would put out more light underneath than it does, but it works for what I want it to do. I'm hoping to get the rest of the walls done in the next couple of weeks. Going around the outlets is what slows me down when putting it up. The two remaining walls don't have as many outlets.

If some go to do something like this, you will have to shop around for the narrow corrugated metal if that's what you want. It will be listed as 1 1/4" ribs or 1 3/4" ribs. I chose the smaller ribbing. I've looked at Lowes and HD and they carry the larger ribbing, or at least the ones close to me do. I found the 1 1/4" at our local lumber company.
