I like the fact that my "regular" annular cutters with 3/4" Weldon shanks can be easily held with a 3/4" collet in the mill or in the drill press with the use of a MT/Weldon adapter.

Can the same be done with NK?

I got the time to measure the shank of the NK cutters. They are 3/4 and I think a collet would probably hold on to them just fine. That said I have not tried it so attempt at your own risk.

It also looks like they make holders for their cutters:

I'm working on a whole drill press built around mine...

Here’s mine. But BukitCase has a pretty slick system also

I used a freebie Ryobi drill press for the base......

"BukitCase has a pretty slick system also"

Thanks Terry; I'm still watching CL for a "donor" DP to round out my "MDVT", no joy so far... Steve

I finally got around to adapting a drill bit to my mag drill. I took a carbide-tipped annular cutter that was dulled beyond repair and cut off the shank. Drilled a 3/8" hole in said shank and held a stub of a 3/8" drill bit in with two set screws.

I've had occasion to use it and it works well. Now I just need to find a whole bunch more ruined annular cutters to make other sizes...

I think you can buy twist drills with 3/4” Weldon shanks.

I lugged a Milwaukee around more than I care to remember. Damm, it they are heavy. But they were the most common on job sites.

I hear you. Mine weighs 60 lbs and gets a little annoying to haul around. It makes up for it with sheer hole-drilling awesomeness though :bounce:

@Iron Beaver I should mention I love the title of your thread. It has the "oops I accidentally slept with my sister in law" vibe. [emoji23]

Got a great deal on a waterproof hard plastic case from Repurposed Materials to keep my mag drill and plasma cutter safe. Those guys rock, check them out!

No affiliation other than a happy customer.
