Get shorter bolts? You have a much quicker solution hanging, third tool from the left. Judging by the air hose to the right, I'd assume compressed air is near. Problem solved in less than 30 seconds.


Oh, and to contribute to the thread, here's my bottomless money pit:

Cut up or shut up right? Haha. Yeah I didn't think of that. Bolts already replaced. And yeah thats right above compressor and every corner has an air hook up now. Well atl least since I bought new bolts that were shorter I put lock washers on which I ran out of before.

Regardless its done. Lol

Well I noticed yesterday morning that I really didn't like that I didn't have an outlet on the back wall in the middle area, so I installed one today.. Then realized there was an outlet.... which has the stereo and phone charger hooked up to it.... another fail lol. Can never have too many outlets... Have another I do have to install, which you'll see below.

Where I wanted outlet, so I could drop a surge protector down from when slatwall is there, and have it secured in a slat..





Spliced in and wired..




Slatwall panel installed, starting the back wall.. finally.




Put compressor in the corner like it belongs, just need to install another power outlet on the bottom right of where it's at.

Got the cabinets, old pegboard and crappy work bench torn down, added slatwall brackets to cabinets and prepared the back wall for more slatwall!

Trying to. We use the slatwall at 4 wheel parts , which is where I work, and ever since the first time I worked here I have been planning to put it in my garage and I am so grateful that I found it on Craigslist.


Got two more full panels up yesterday. Now for cutting around that pasty power box on the left and a straight cut with some power outlets next to the man door.

Last big sheet cut and up. A few smaller peices on left if it on back wall, one above the man door and one we cut next to the right of man door that I have to decide on the switch and outlet situation.



Another big win yesterday is me and my brother dug up a 4x4 in the ground where the previous owner had the pool pump (pool was removed years ago) and during digging found end of wire and service box where power wire was broked and we fixed it, sealed open end and have power to the shed!

Great work so far on the garage! Not to be negative, but I think you have the same orange air hose that I had. I got mine from Lowe's. Lasted about a year or two, then the whole side of it blew out while using it one day. You may want to look into getting a better quality air hose. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! The hose was a freebie from my brother so I've already got my money out of it lol. Always regulate air pressure too but thanks got the heads up. That's why I don't like leaving them hooked up.

Last big peice of slatwall is up. Had to take the switches and outlets out of original 2 and 1 gang box, and put them into a new 3 gang box. Very intimidating since there was 6 wires total going into box and one being a 3 way. Got it all done and working right. Next is to get the small sections cut. Above man door, on right of furnace and near maim garage door. Excited to say the least.

That roll cart is a 4 drawer from Harbor Freight s10.

Yep, HF rolling cart. Have had it since Christmas, brother got it while it was on sale. They go on sale all the time around $100. Had to slot two holes putting together but other then that it works great.

On another note got a water jug from a buddy for my ebay water jug pump, so now I can wash hands in garage.

Added 2 bike hooks and a clevis hook and carabiner hook both on eye hooks so I can hang my hitch carrier up and out of the way.


Also, put my fan on the wall to get it out of the way. If I can find a way to mount it to slatwall, I will lol.

Haven't updated in a bit, but have been working on it. More organizing than anything.. Also installed another HF Bike Hoist, got rid of the crappy hooks and put some 6" carabiners on it.

Not much of an update, but got another section of slatwall up and finished, as well as started on another corner... Going to be picking up a Husky Cabinet or two for the garage, as I tossed the big brown cabinet below as well, since no one wanted it locally.



Cabinet I had to scrap. I did however save the top track and one full door, and rollers from other door for a sliding door to hide our access to the crawl space from our basement closet. Thinking of a wood door, rustic looking.

Plastic slat wall hooks in a tightly drilled hole. Holds well surprisingly.

Well I decided on Sunday, after reviewing posts here, Homedepot.com, youtube and other sources, to get the Husky 46" cabinet. I found a youtube video with suggestions how to sturdy it up which I posted on my thread asking about them (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=273628).

The toolbox should do me good, as I am only using it for organization, not heavy use or loading. I did however neglect to open it up at the store, and noticed when I got home that there was a dent in the rear of it.






I took it back to HD, they offered me a discount to keep it since there were no more at the store, and knocked off $40. So I got it for $240+ tax. I was happy with that, since drawers still function well and as they should, and honestly you don't notice it. It's against the wall.

Started to liner up the drawers tonight, so didn't get too much in it yet, but seems to be holding up well with a drawer full of drills and 19.2v batteries.



Also, got some good Christmas gifts. My mother got me the 20 piece Gearwrench set...
My oldest brother also go me the HF Air Hose Reel. Works pretty well, got that all hooked up today.




Decided to go with the Husky rubber air connection fitting on the reel so it doesn't hit against anything and damage it, or at least make it less likely to do so.



Also, rearranged the garage a bit to fit my 2 motorcycles and Dakota in it better, so my fiance can get her Jeep in there too, but that's still a work in progress.

Built my other cabinet today, and found small parts bag I lost, including magnets, stuck to the bottom of the first cabinet lol.



Planned on putting it next to the original one but roughly 6" too wide and was going to put it to the right of it next to furnace on the other wall but electrical box and bike interfer. Decided to put it across from the first one on the opposite wall. Also cleaned up a bit to make sense of the area.







All while working around this turd.

I got some more slatwall hooks and also picked up some shelf brackets. Made for the plastic bullnose shelfing or wood, but happened to work with wire shelfs from HD. Just tight fitting in the front, but won't go anywhere, so that's good.
