Their site lists Dex Cool concentrate at $14.99/gal, add a gallon of distilled water and you're at or over the $16 it would cost to buy two gallons of 50/50 mix.

I admit it, I've gladly paid extra for the convenience of pre-mix since it came out. No finding containers in which to mix, perfect proportions and deionized water

That's all I use. The tap water here is extremely hard.

Distilled will certainly lengthen the life span of pretty much everything involved in your cooling system.

DI water theoretically has virtually all minerals removed. Seems like a good idea to me, esp if you plan on running the coolant for 100-150k or more.

Agreed, my well water is full of fluoride & sodium, an RO system for the house is cost prohibitive.

You can run whatever you like, even GM owners manuals say to just use clean tap water.

The point of the thread (and I thought the point of the Hot Deals subsection) is that if you CHOOSE to run pre-mix coolant this IS a good deal. I just can't be the only member of GJ who elects to buy pre-mix? And I'd guess shops use it extensively for the time-saving and removal of guess work about proper mix?

OP thanks for the heads up on this deal. Need to get some Dexcool, I want to assume the O'Reilly brand is OK since they say it meets the GM 6277M spec. Anyone know of any problems with their brand?
