Run of 4 outdoor lights, all work except the first light in the run.

I measure 110 volts between the center contact and the threaded part.
Tried known good bulbs, they do not light.

I cleaned the center contact with sandpaper, it's shiny.
Fixture is 50 years old.

Is this just a bad fixture that needs to be replaced?

I need a new lamp holder if I can find it.
The connection to the black wire did not look good, I pulled it off by hand.

The easiest and cheapest thing to do is buy a floodlight lampholder and take the socket out. You will probably have to recycle the existing bracket.

The mounting bracket is held on by a screw.

Home Depot used to sell sockets, either by the fans/pendant lights or over by the outlets, I can't remember. Amazon probably has them too

I found one on Amazon that has a detachable mounting bracket.

Leviton 8052-1. Arrives Tuesday.

Try this.
Turn power off to socket, remove bulb. The center contact needs to be pulled up away from the base towards the bulb base. If that doesn't work, Tuesday will.

I tried that, no change.

The new bulb holder fixed it. I think it failed, in large part, due to moisture getting inside
the fixture. All 3 panes were missing.

I got a piece of plexiglas and I cut 3 new panes to keep out the weather.

Good as new.
