Is it $10k for the install plus cost of door?
If it includes a nice door then it sounds reasonable. Actually on the low side for Anderson product with install.
Anderson is a reputable company with excellent product and rarely is the lowest cost provider in any market. You could buy a vinyl door from The Home Depot and have Joe's handyman install it for $4k total.
A quick look at HomeDepot pricing shows French type patio doors in the 1-5K$ range, carry out pricing. Anderson is always going to be on the higher end cost wise. I wouldn't be suprized if the installation cost of an Anderson product didn't run as much as 50% of the product's price.

I'm a bit suspicious of window makers/sellers. Our home was built new in 2017 and already these Andersen & Pella peeps are coming around and trying to convince us its time to replace the windows.
Whew! I would think that's a tad high. Like $9500 too high, lol. I could see if it was a new door opening; having to engineer cutting into a load-bearing wall, install beams, cut a hole in asbestos siding with remediation, etc... But just to pull some trim and run a saws-all around the old door, crane-kick the old one into the yard, and plop a new one in the hole? Yeah, 10k is nuts in my opinion. No offense to anyone who gets 10k to install a door. Obviously people pay it, lol.
Where are you finding contractors who will furnish and install a french door for $500?

There are $500 doors that might be installed for $500........they are easy to spot.........might not be for everyones look or budget too high or too low ? Either way they do serve a purpose and fill space in the market place. Might not put a $10k door in $$50k home or cottage ?
Just as there are $25k car and $80k cars. $25k car gets you to work and $500 door will keep out the weather for years.
The trick is not paying $10k for $1000 job both in the door quality and install workmanship.
The roofers, insulation, door/windows and bath remodel ads on TV in my area are almost endless.
