I might not understand the problem correctly. However, a jackshaft operator can be mounted on either side of the door, and I can see that you have plenty of room between the two doors to mount one. The one problem that I do see is that the steel shaft might need to be replaced since it doesn't appear that there is enough pipe sticking out of the side of the torsion bar. I am not an expert on the jackshaft operators, but I have them on all of my garage doors, and all but one were professionally installed. I tackled the installation of the last one when the installer told me there wasn't enough space to install the operator on one of the doors. I figured out a way to shoehorn it into a narrow opening, and it has been working flawlessly for the past 2 years. Where there is a will, there is a way.
