Here is my addition to the Oxwall haul of shame. As I noted in the GS thread, I didn't realize they were Oxwall, else I would have put them back. I noticed the double pivot on a Lineman's type pliers, stuff was cheap by the handful, didn't look closely at the mark. Realized later it was an Oxwall. Saw more letters below, so I took a Sandflex block to it.

This one also is a Germany British Zone. Sorta matches a chisel I have somewhere. Not quite the same as Lugz' just above, or this one earlier

As you can see from the photo, the cutter is thrashed, when the pliers tips touch, the cutter no longer closes.

If someone has a use for this, holler, else its going in the scrap bin with the trash in a week or three.

Picked up this Oxwall screwdriver set in a random tool box yesterday.
All I'm seeing on the markings is Oxwall USA Doesn't actually say made in USA So I'm not sure where it was made.
Any suggestions on cleaning the white gunk on the handle that has also spread to the clear pouches on the tool roll?
I don't think its too valuable, but its small enough to stick in the truck toolbox.
Or if anyone collects things like this....

I use Simple Green and a lightly abrasive pad or rag on all vinyl or plastic pouches and all composite handles. Don't soak (submerge and let sit) anything in SG too long. It will fade and eventually strip dyes. Just wipe on and off.

Thanks
I’ll try that. Also have some other things that will probably benefit from same.

Does your little laminated ratchet have a spring to lock the ratchet pawls? If so, can you share a description?

My dad had a set of Oxwally looking ignition wrenches, but I think they were stamped “Quality Steel” I threw them in his old CMan box, that I gave him for XMas one year, when I gave the box to my son after Dad died. He actually used one size on an old gas tractor because it was thin enough, being stamped sheet metal, that he could get it into a real tight spot. He kept them on an old shower curtain ring through the box ends. I did keep his two DOE Indestro ignition wrenches.

oooo that's interesting.... what kind of markings are on the sockets/ratchet/drive tools ????
USA? Japan? anything?

edit:
I see.. it's for sale.... I am not on "FacebooK"... see if the seller can provide some more photos... I'm really curious about that ratchet and flex extension... particularly if they're U.S. made... "PowerMaster" was Oxwall's trade name for their Japan-made import line.

Lot of hate here for poor old Oxwall. I've seen tons of this stuff at flea markets and garage sales. Never knew anything about it until now.

I've never bought an Oxwall tool but about 25 years ago I bought one of their little blue plastic toolboxes that was just the right size for the tools to work on my riding mower. I think I paid about $3.00 at a store that has long since gone out of business. It served me well for all those years and I loved it. But... but... I left it in the driveway and then backed over it with my car. OUCH !!! I looked for another one on eBay and etsy but the best I could find was a pair of used ones for $49.99. OUCH AGAIN !!! I'll always think fondly of Oxwall.

So, I found this at an estate sale. I have never seen an Oxwall tool made in Germany. The quality is typical of German tools of that era, so I have to edit my previous to say that USA made tools were garbage. 20240121_190202.jpg 20240121_190221.jpg

I remember buying Oxwall tools at the Dime Store to work on my bikes. They lasted for a long time just working on bikes.

Hi, All. Old thread but thought I'd add this to the discussion.
Its for sale in UK but reading the comments on here I think I will pass and just stick with Britool

Anyway, thought the pic might be of interest to some.
Looks unopened and I think I know why now . :)

OK guys, I know there's lots of poodedoo on Oxwall buy nonetheless I have some in my collection. Later today there's an online auction for this Oxwall toolbox and there's apparently 20 of them available. I'm the only bidder so far at $5 each. Does anyone need one of these? I'll only charge shipping to send it to ya. Lemme know quickly so I buy enough1000025548.jpg

And here's another one, stamped from the finest chrome-plated tin cans:

For what I paid for it, I can use it as a fishing weight. Backdrag could crank-start a Model T--after cleaning and oiling.

Lineman's pliers from an estate sale this week. I didn't realize it was Oxwall until after a good soaking in vinegar and a trip to the wire brush. Made in Korea!

Oxwall Combination Ignition Wrench Set… I’m told that these are not a very good string set so they are in display in my mini Rampy Truck in the box of it.
