With the stamped logo and Portland I would say 40s. By 48 the catalogs show a decal on same set, but catalog art can be unreliable.
Stillgottime that little socket coral is easily fabricated.
Interesting, yours has the bump for the speed handle- handle while mine doesn't. And yes, some of your tools very well might be correct for that box! Interesting that mine says Portland while yours says Milwaukie -which is the suburb of Portland that the factory was located in...I would imagine the wording would help pin down the age on each box but I don't have enough catalogs to go through to look

Nice set there BMW! I like that one handed speeder...not real common and they look really cool. Your box looks like it would clean up really nice!Heres mine:
The speeder is too early for this set but I haven't come across the correct one yet, and I did forget to clean the rust on the top so I need to get on that!
I also have 1/4 and 3/8 sets from that period, but I will take pics of those on another date. They are probably in this thread anyhow.

Crusty P&C Rotomat. Pretty beat! If they moved the decimal point one digit to the left, I might be interested.
Edit to add: It is the woodworking tool version. Notice that the outlines in the foreground are wood planes.
Maybe not if free shipping! So that means two decimal points to the left?

Nice grab! Only made in 1/4 drive size.
