I have seen a 3/8 version. A guy had 2 of them. Was kicking myself later for not buying them.

I found a long wood handled screwdriver yesterday that had a Plomb or Proto look about it so I grabbed it along with a P&C rusty center punch. I finally got enough rust removed from the screwdriver to see the maker.

Couple P&C related items from a K.R. Wilson heavy lot I picked up at a farm auction recently. Besides the clean P&C socket there's a radiator filler nozzle I believe from a company partially named after P&C & Thorsen's "tool & die maker" Pete E. Mortensen (PEM of PEM-Co ). The Snap-On 5/8" drive piece fits perfectly in my P&C 5/8" drive female ratchet...I figure if I can't find an original P&C drive piece I could do worse than a similar era Snap-On one.

Agreed. One could do much worse than an era correct snappy :) Hopefully you will post the rest of the lot you purchased at that sale here soon?

Finds from Friday:

1/2" socket set (the 15/16 is a different brand, (I have 2 others but may not have the "100" on it)

And the wrenches, I DO have a 3/4 to more fill the set with "100" on it - The adjustable does NOT have the 100 on it.:

I happened to have found a P+C 100 socket (1/2d, 5/8") but am unfamiliar with the "100" series. Can you supply, or point me to where I may find, more info about them?

Thanks

Did the quality go down hill at all in the 100 era?
I would say no, but I only have wrenches and sockets of the 100 era...They are physically identical to their proto brothers for the most part. However I have seen some that the finishing work isnt as nice...so depending on the examples you compare, either case could be made...or maybe it just depended on who was on QC that day :)

Had to go a ways out of town today for work. I always stop at small antique stores to take a break from driving. Usually they only have cut glass and doilies. Today they had something a little different. On a shelf setting between tea cups and cut glass was this thing. Appears to be an NOS early 30's 3/4" ell with the positive lock on it. The positive lock system is somewhat hard to find. You never know what you're going to find out hunting.
