I was reading the thread about rust in a gas tank and it got me thinking how I would do it... which leads to this...
Several years ago I bought a Harbor Freight paint shaker for about $99.

It is one of the most used, most enjoyed, tools in the shop. I use it for everything.
I shake paint with it...
I have various cans that I put things in to shake them. Soup can with a chuck of foam shakes all my Testors model paint bottles. The larger airesol model paint cans go in a gallon can with some foam packing and get all shook up. I use an old, cleaned out paint can to put a bit of solvent in and my nuts and bolts off car projects.....the list goes on and on. Biggest thing is to remember to use it! If I had a rusty mower tank it would get some solvent and old bolts or something,,,,,and then shake the heck out of it!!
