I'm tired of lugging paint tins off the top shelf of my garage when SHMBO decides that we need to 'touch up' the interior paintwork because auntie Ethel (whoever) is coming to visit.
I got me some empty paint tins (from the Container Store), got all the full paint tins down off the top shelf, stirred them up and filled the new tins with a half pint of paint. I put a drop of each paint on the top of the new tins, marked them with the room location, added some throw away brushes, a bit of sandpaper, some stirring sticks, spackle and a tin opener, put the whole lot in an old paint tray.
I now have a paint station which can be used for household touch up, and who knows, maybe even the wife will be encouraged to do a bit of paint touch up.

Well that might work for a young fellow, but around here She Who Dreams of Being Listened To knows there ain't no damn paintin gonna happen just cause her blood kin are arriving.
She learned that a while back when after I informed her for 6 months there was no paint left for the bathroom which she of course nknew better. Since I had changed the damn lights on the side of the mirror, SHE decided she'd show me. She marched right to where the leftover paint sat, whipped open a can and fired up a mixer in the battery drill.
Then she hauled her paint into the bathroom, and swabbed it on the wall, all neat and lady like. Since the first coat didn't do the job, she added a second.

I didn't say a damn thing. Ain't no point to tellin a woman anything anyhow.

Her "daughter" pretended to not notice.
The idiot that married the daughter asked me privately. I explained survival to the lad, and he's been dealin with the "daughter" much better since then. Of course he don't know the difference between chanellocks and needle nose.

Been 5 years now and I ain't heard a single word about paint.
