Painting 3,500 sq ft Rust Bullet.

Painted the new shop floor this weekend. Still a little sore!

First day 10 man hours(had a helper) and 9 gallons.
Second day second coat 6 1/2 man hours and 5.5-6 gallons.

Second coat went on easier as you did not have cover every dimple in the floor for coverage. Down side same color do harder to tell where you had painted.

Stuff is hard as a rock! Where the concrete is rough it stayed rough but the smooth areas may be a little too smooth and end up slick.

Used an extra deep roller pan that held almost 1/2 gallon at a time so less filling the tray to slosh it all over-stuff id bad *** and sticks to every thing hard.

The wind picked up and since it's spring the trees are blowing all kinds of pollen fluff around!

First day was not as humid and even after 5 hours the first stuff down was still tacky, second say at 3 1/2 hours the first stuff was not tacky anymore.

Good idea to keep it all shut! Remember nothing on the floor for 72 hours from the last area you rolled.

No. It's. It a high build system. Use a 3/8 nap roller preferably Wooster

Justin if I find it is too slick let's say in a year what is the easiest way to add some traction?

I would say a squeegee would leave it too thick or uneven thickness or waste a lot and it is not cheap if you are doing a big surface.

Wear the spiked shoes...

I would think a scuff, and recoat w/ (flakes,sharkgrip etc.)

Sorry. 4 day vacation and we were driving through mountains. Rough it up with 120 grit sand paper, clean and go.

A wet edge is best. If you have expansion joints you can stop there. Then do other side.

One of the most frustrating things dealing with projects is when people do not do what they said they would. Sometimes people act like they don't want your business. Dives me crazy.

Shop is 50x70', three 14' roll up doors, one regular door, 16' eave height so I can put a lift in. It was not that expensive to go "up".

Here is a picture of the property and the general long term plans-house barn. Big pecan trees drop big limbs so tried to put everything out of fall areas! I've worn out one chain saw already and have a big stack of cut wood.

Floor looks great. I just ordered some Rust Bullet for my new garage. Was wondering what the best prep is for new/fresh concrete. My floor was pour just about a month ago. I know that Rust Bullet doesn't require extensive prep like epoxy would, but it is necessary to clean the new concrete before applying?

Yes. I would power wash or scrub the floor first. The. Let it dry. Then coat. Make sure that slab is cured. Rule of thumb is 30 days but pays to check.
