they're my main source for Ko-Ken tools these days. I believe they're based in Mass. If in stock, i usually get my tools within a week. No free shipping though. No issues after three orders.

I’ve bought from them once without issue. If you look at their address they are at the same place as Koken USA just a different unit number.

My second order from them will be here this week. When one piece was unavailable for a week they were great with emails asking if I wanted to ship the partial order or wait. Prompt and polite.

I believe this is correct. And probably explains the fairly recent falling out of some of their past resellers (frank's tools, etc.)

If you're ordering Ko-Ken tools from Palmac, discount code MrSubaru5 gets you 5% off your order. It's not much but, it's better than a sharp stick to the eye. Palmac even included Ko-Ken decals with my orders so, open the shipping label with care.

Yep, same thing here- I've bought a couple Koken items from them recently. Good communication and ask if you want them to ship items separately if one will be delayed.

Given you have a list, I have a question. As I have been looking at buying from the same place.

If you are doing sockets then are you deciding between their regular sockets vs zeal?

The zeal has the tightest fit but they are super low profile, not sure if that will be a good thing for general use. Maybe too small to grasp and they'd keep dropping from my hands.

I am considering going regular 3/8 and deep socket and come back to the zeal for 1/4 in my next order.

I purchased some ko-ken swivels from there. I heard about them from a guy on youtube I think his name is mr subaru and he had a 5% discount code. I think the code was mrsubaru5 or something like that, might want to look that up if you're ordering after the black friday code expires

I have the 1/4" zeal set and they're small but not that small... I have small hands though so maybe it's different for you. They have knurling and the design makes them pretty hard to accidentally drop though. I've dropped my other Chrome sockets in 1/4 but never these

Has anyone purchased from Palmac lately and can comment on lead times for Koken items that do not show as on hand? Also, do they wait for all items to be on hand before shipping, or split up into multiple shipments (on hand vs those with a lead time)?

They're the only seller I can find who has the new 72 tooth Koken ratchets listed for sale. Oddly, the 5% discount code (MrSubaru5) is either not working, or only discounting a very small amount.

It can vary, depending on where the item is in the supply chain, but I've generally found it to be about a week.

They usually wait until they have everything in the order.

Well, 5% isn't a terribly large amount...did you do the math to see if it's correct? I used the code just last week, and it behaved as expected.

Thanks for the info. I currently have ~ $184 in my cart (Koken and Wera) and the coupon code is removing less than $1.00. I experimented in a different browser and cart. Most items were "not eligible" for the discount, including the new 72T ratchet. Oddly it seems this just changed within the last few days as I've been building this order for over a week and the 5% discount was previously working.

Perhaps the MRSUBARU5 code no longer works. It's been around for awhile. It used to remove 5% of your total order price before shipping. have you called Palmac? are you ordering non Ko-Ken items? I bought two 72 tooth Ko-Ken ratchets and was able to get 5% off.

Palmac should create a Garage Journal discount code of 10% as much free press as they get in these pages as well as the number of orders from journal members :wtf:

Palmac will partial ship orders with back ordered items. Palmac has been real good about emailing me lead times for out of stock items.

All but about $30 in my cart is Koken. Started over and tried to use the code for the 3726Z-280-72T ratchet I got a message that says "The coupon code you entered couldn't be applied to any items in your order". It does remove 5% on Koken 3715S. It just puzzles me on what has changed.

Been ******* most of the day so I have not called.

Yeah, a year or so ago I said the same about Vessel USA.

In the Palmac shipping FAQ is this statement:

"Orders being shipped to your home will require an adult signature......"

Do I really have to be at home to sign for a $65 ratchet wrench delivery?

Hi Outahere,

You don't have to be home to receive a package. Palmac ships via UPS. My order was left by the front door.

However, depending on what you order, expect weeks to well over a month for your to arrive at your home. Due to the pandemic, Ko-ken Japan has been experiencing manufacturing difficulties keeping up with demand. If you check out Amazon Japan, you'll see a number of Ko-ken item out of stock with in stock times in the weeks or months.

My recent Palmac order was placed on 1/25/21. I ordered the following: 3/8" drive Zeal socket set RS3400MZ/12; 3/8" drive extension bar set PK3760/6; and the 3/8" drive 72 tooth, flex ratchet 3726Z-72T.

The ratchet took 2 weeks to arrive from Japan to Palmac. The socket and extension sets took about six weeks to arrive from Japan to Palmac. My 1/25 order finally arrived at my home on 3/13/21. I'm happy.

I had an easy and professional phone call experience with them. I think I called to check stock or something simple. And an order placed with them arrived well-packed and in good time. (late last year.) I think their professionally set up website helps them over others who have sold import tools.

Edit: no signature was needed.

Just to calibrate your expectations...it usually takes Palmac 4-5 working days (and they don't work evenings or weekends) to get an order out the door. If you ordered them today, they won't even see the order until sometime Monday, when it goes into the queue. Expect them to actually ship around Thursday, then factor in the UPS time to you.

They're not fast, but they're quite reliable.

My experience with Palmac was not a great one. Communication was poor, I got a order confirmation, after 7+ days of nothing else I called to find out, some of my order was out of stock. I had to ask them to split it up and ship what they had. Was another 5 days before that shipped. I even called Koken USA to ask for another USA distributor. I know Palmac is small, I would think that would offer better service and ship times but in this case that's a no. Koken would be better off with someone like Zoro. I don't expect miracles, but other retailers are on the ball with shipping, and notifications that they don't have. Chads tool box, Zoro, Count on tools even HD, Lowes are better. I had 2 Axes ship from the Netherlands arrive to my house in 6 days, ordered on a Friday, shipped out Monday. 4000+ miles in 6 days. DHL was on the ball. Palmac can't even let me know items are OSS in 7+with out me calling. I like the koken products I have so far and If I want more will look else where.

My experience as well. I would add they use the slowest UPS option available, too, so expect up to 2 weeks for an in-stock item. Otherwise, very pleased with their selection and service.

My first Palmac order arrived today via UPS Ground, nine days after ordering on a Monday. The order was for 6 Koken items, all in stock. They kept me updated with 4 emails, but the shipping notification email did not include a tracking number. I will buy from them again.

My experience as well. They are not the fastest, but for in stock items very reliable and about 10 days from order to delivery, depending on your location. I have already ordered from them on multiple occasions.
