Shop Update. We have been dealing with some horrendous weather . We set the trusses a week ago Monday and had snow, sleet and rain. In spite of that, all went well. We had to shut down during plywood roof sheeting due to frozen fog building up on the roof, turning it into a skating rink. After the string of difficult weather we are rolling again. Roof is sheeted and tar paper is down. We are technically dried in!!!! Thank God!
Next is interior wall framing in the apartment and roofers will be laying shingles(during the NW's storm of the Century). The wind is howling right now, tomorrow is going to be gnarly. Here are some recent pics of the progress.
Vault
Crane truck delivering the underground power vault. PP&L is requiring that I add an underground transformer and extend the primary.
Delivery guy sealing the vault before placing the lid.
I dug about a 200' trench to where the vault needed to be located. I used my buddies Takeuchi TB135 Mini excavator. The dig went smooth, no rocks Thank God!
We decided it would be easier to build the Coppola inside the shop, then fork it up to the roof top. It ended up working out pretty good. I felt like I was a kid putting a Lincoln logs chimney on a toy log house
My wife designed this shop. She added a Coppola to balance out the outrageous height of the shop next to the small living quarters. The Coppola is also open to the inside centered right above the kitchen bringing in lots of natural light.
