Anyone know anything about Pedro's Tools? I am searching for a torx set and came across a set made by them. It appears they are bicycle tool manufacturers. Anyone know where they're made and/or how well their tools are made? Thanks, Glenn

Yes, primarily bicycle tools. They are good quality and priced less than their main competitor's tools, Park Tools. But I use Park Tools personally, I know Park is made in the USA but not sure about Pedro's.

When it comes to universal type tools (non bicycle) I use main stream brands like S-K and Wright. Torx would be in that category.

I agree with you on SK and Wright. Although SK is tricky with warranty. Now, I only buy US made tools. Especially those made by the smaller, less popular American companies like Wright and Cornwell. Only reason I asked is because I saw their product on Ebay and it looked good and was decently priced. Just curious is all.

I haven't had any problems yet, but I've heard they are difficult because everything must be mailed in. No distributors. With that said, I've warrantied A LOT of tools as of recent because I'm moving and while packing everything up, I decided to set aside my older, beat up tools and send them in. Mac and Snap On both emailed me prepaid postage to put on the boxes and ship them out. Matco couldn't offer that, but they did send a Fed Ex truck to the house to pick them up. All 3 replaced every tool I sent back with no questions asked. About 19 Snap On tools, 10 Mac, and 3 Matco. With more to come soon. I'm currently talking to SK about sending tools back. They will not cover the cost to ship to them, only back to me. Before they warrant anything though, they evaluate it to see if it needs replacement or repair. I'm also sending tools in to Apex (Crescent, Armstrong, Gearwrench) who said they will issue me prepaid postage. Proto/Blackhawk/Stanley told me to bring them to a distributor which I'm going to do tomorrow. So we'll see what happens. I figure its worth a shot. I've even emailed Channellock, Eklind, and Estwig about warranty. If they do replace it great, if not, I haven't gained or lost anything sooo why not.

SK has always paid postage for me...I usually always send them an email with pictures so they can see the issues before I send it in.

I have this set at work. I don't use it a whole lot, but it's worked well when I've had to. In the business of working on bikes, the size I use the most is the T25, with the T10 being a distant second. I have a Birzman T25 T handle that I use a lot, and greatly prefer to the Pedro's T/L that I used previously. I didn't like the shape, size, or rubbery feel of the handle on the Pedro's T/L. The business end of the tool worked fine though.

Ive had about 15yrs of bike wrenching before and during school and pedros are great for the price. park was the high end standard as snap on is in automotive. at least 95% of all pedros tools that i have used were just as good as park. the only real junk that i found was the trail use multi tools that they made.

Really? I've emailed them a few times about it and they won't do it. I even sent them a "don't take this the wrong way" email telling them how Mac and Snap On paid, and Matco came to my house to get them. I work in the maintenance dept. at a hospital and send everything out through shipping and receiving. I'm going to gather up every rusted, scratched, dinged up tool I can find and "if it fits, it ships." I'd rather pay $10 or whatever it is and send out 25 tools rather paying that for only 1 or 2 items.

Couldn't resist the regional humor thing. I saw the thread and immediately pictured all of those count down mileage signs along I95.

Sorry, flashbacks of my misspent youth at Fort Bragg. Carryon

Haha....that was great fun when I was a kid riding down 95 to Myrtle Beach.....See who could spot the most S.O.B. signs.

Sadly, now when we drive through there, 50-60% of the buildings are vacant/boarded up/falling in.....definitely a memory of a bygone era....
